Sure, if you are using Full HD resolution or even lower the old icons are fine and not too pixelated.

Reanimata is an attempt though to bring this game to current times where most players are playing in WQHD or - like myself - are gaming in 4K.

Anyway here are possible solutions:
1.) just delete the icons in \gfx\interface\icons you don't like
OR
2.) for a permanent solution; create a small mod with vanilla icons (or other ones you prefer) at the right spot in \gfx\interface\icons and load your mod after my mod. Done!
