Your mod has been hidden until restrictions are removed.
You do not have the right to alter files on a user's computer beyond what is in the mod's workshop folder. This is against the EULA, and as such, it cannot be hosted on the workshop until your mod is repaired and the malicious code is removed. If you're uncomfortable with the way people use a mod in their single-player game on their own computer, don't make your mod available to the public.

In addition, other people making patches for your mod are not in violation of any rules or EULA, whether Steam's or Ludeon's.

Thank you for your message and for clarifying the reason for the removal of my RimWorld mod "Giver" (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3265068668). I fully respect your moderation decisions and would like to address the concerns raised to resolve this matter.

I understand your point about mods not altering files outside the Workshop folder, as per the EULA. To clarify, the latest version of "Giver" only writes to the standard RimWorld configuration folder "Config" which is a common practice for RimWorld mods to store user settings. I apologize if this was unclear or caused any confusion.

Regarding the mention of malicious code, I want to assure you that "Giver" contains no harmful or malicious content. It has been falsely accused of being a "virus" in certain online communities, which may have led to coordinated false reports.

I kindly request:
- A re-evaluation of the mod’s removal, considering the above clarification.
- Guidance on any specific changes needed to restore the mod to the Workshop.

Thank you for your time and support. I am committed to maintaining a positive contribution to the RimWorld community and greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this misunderstanding.

Best regards,

It might not be considered malicious, or intended to be, but the result is. Mods should not affect anything other than the game itself - basically, it should not reach past its own contained folder. It shouldn't affect data or system services,

I spoke to the devs about this, because it's a very tricky situation, and to be frank, your mod was doing some very questionable things, from hiding what it's doing, changing things it shouldn't, disguising itself as other mods to stay hidden, and that just can't be allowed.

We should remove mods that are doing "shady" things for any reason. EULA covers this. If the mod is doing something player wouldn't expect or want, it gets banned. ... They can keep the mod up if they remove all the obfuscation and the code that tries to prevent you from resurrecting the creature (backup config files included)

I get that you have a way you'd prefer people use your mod. But you have no right to control other users. Once you make your mod publicly available, you should accept that people can - and likely will - do things with it that you didn't intend, whether it be patching, translating, or altering it client-side.

As long as they don't upload a copy and claim to be the owner, it's allowed.

First of all, I sincerely apologize for any behavior that may have appeared suspicious or inappropriate.

The currently available version of Giver only outputs a single settings file to "Config" folder.
This file records the death tick, cause of death, and world ID when the character Giver dies. When the game reaches the recorded tick again, Giver automatically dies once more.

The resurrection suppression only applies to the Giver animal that this mod adds to the game, and does not interfere with other gameplay elements.

The feature that backed up multiple configuration files has already been removed, and the code has already been de-obfuscated.
I deeply regret having implemented these features in the past, and removed them several months ago.

The design where Giver cannot be revived is a part of the character's intended lore. I wanted players to treat Giver with care, and that was the motivation behind this mechanic.

However, I understand your concerns and am willing to modify the mod according to your guidance. If possible, I would like to request permission to keep the non-revivable nature of Giver, as it is a central aspect of the character's concept.

Once again, I apologize for any confusion or concern this may have caused. I am committed to working in good faith and would appreciate any specific instructions needed to restore the mod to the Workshop.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

I accept your argument here too.
Ah, your email was passed on to me, and I realize you might not know who I am

Hello, I'm Sneaks, community manager for Ludeon Studeos, admin for RimWorld's Steam presence, moderator on the subreddit and associated Discord servers.

The removal wasn't automated. It was removed because your mod had some questionable code that does things a mod should not do - and as long as that has been removed, then it'll be fine. AS you've stated that it's been done, I'll revoke the ban.

Your understanding has been appreciated, thank you.

Dear Sneaks,

Thank you very much for your kind and understanding response.
I deeply apologize for any trouble or concern my mod may have caused, and I also regret having sent an email to Ludeon Studios without realizing that you were the person responsible for handling the matter.
I’m sincerely grateful that the ban on Giver has been lifted.

I’m also very thankful that you’ve accepted the current design of Giver, especially the character’s inability to be revived, as it is a key part of the mod’s lore and concept. Your understanding means a great deal to me.

Moving forward, I will continue to respect the guidelines and strive to contribute positively to the RimWorld community.
Thank you again for your patience, guidance, and support.

Warm regards,
seeki
