in-game cult centre
historical cult centres has been achieved in myth fitting gods’ location & historical cult centre mod.
in short,
Buhen - Horus,
Kawa - Anubis,
Ashkelon - El,
Ugarit - Yamm.

~~Original Text~~

several in-game cult centre seems not make much sense,
especially Horus, Anubis & Yamm.
which i'm making a mod on that.

whether that modification to be included in this mod, or a seperated mod,
i'm opened to feedback.

i discuss it here because it is somewhat linked to this mod,
as when i expel Anubis from Buhen, then Buhen's logo will also change.

Buhen:
in-game, Buhen was given to Anubis.
i couldn't find any historical source to back that up.
historically Buhen had Temple of Horus, they also called him "Horus of Buhen".
while Buhen is not an actual cult centre (Nekhen & Edfu),
if we must spread some Cult Centre across the map for balancing,
then Buhen being Horus' cult centre is probably the most suitable option.

Kawa:
in-game, Kawa was given to Horus.
i couldn't find any historical source to back that up.
Kush was devoted to Amun and some other Nubian gods,
but Amun got Waset already while no nubian god in the game.
everyone else is quite settled so i'll give whatever leftover to Anubis.
or maybe because Anubis got black skin (jackal), Kushites got black skin,
force them to be friends?
one of Anubis' titles is Lord of Nine Bows (9 bows = many foreign enemies of Egypt),
the most bow-ish foreigner would be Kushite, perhaps they match only in certain mythological way.

Yamm:
Yamm was featured in Ugaritic myth, but not related to Sinai nor Ashkelon area.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yam_(god)
sending him back to Ugarit.

El:
the game gave him Ugarit,
however Ugarit did not have any temple of El.
some say that Yahweh is El,
so giving Ashkelon (close to Jerusalem) to El seems a perfect swap with Yamm.

note of other inaccurate cult centre (but no plan to modify):

Isis:
Miam was not Isis' either,
Philae, at Nubian border (First Cataract), was one of her historical cult centre.
Miam is the most northern Nubian city in game, not extremely far from Philae, so just leave it that way.

Set:
Nubt (Naqada), near Abydos, is Set's cult centre historically.
Nubt (Kom Ombo), is Sobek's cult centre historically, featured in game as Set's cult centre.
well, at least they got the town name right, and Sobek is Set's son in some myth.
or else could shift Set's cult centre to Western Desert or Pi-Ramesses.
