Mycenaean Etymology Inquiry
Nice mod so far! I had an inquiry about one of the names of the gods:

I noticed Zeus is referred to as Diwos, presumably due to the Linear B tablets writing in di-wo and di-we. That was very likely the genitive form of his name though, like 'of Zeus.' It may be more correct to use the nominative form, yes?

The nominative form is pretty elusive to find, but I've seen 'di-u-jo' and 'di-u-ja', Diuios and Diuia (PY Tn 316), patronymics likely stemming from a nominative for Zeus.

One of the Boeotian Aeolic forms was also Deus (Δεύς), with Aeolic and Arcadocypriot resembling Mycenaean the closest out of the post-Bronze Age dialects. Hence why I think it should be written as potentially Dius, or a similar form. What do you think?

I settled at ‘Diwos’ in an attempt to make the pantheon less Hellenocentric and make the name of the god sound like something in the middle between the more formally correct Dzeus and the Luwian (Trojan?) Tiwaz (more properly: Diwas). The attested Mycenaean spelling provides a ground for this decision. The case is complicated by the fact that ‘Diwas’ was apparently a Luwian/Trojan name for the god the Greeks called Apollo, not Zeus, so I am generally uncomfortable with the entire religion system in this game and would like to find a better compromise between authenticity and game mechanics. Reverting to a strict Proto-Hellenic spelling is an option but I thought my current decision was rather clever and fitting for the purpose.

That's completely fair, I forgot to account for the Luwian/Trojans as part of the Aegean pantheon myself.
