This mod seems really cool, but I'm not going to bash my head against a wall when the author could just update the descriptions with how the damn things are supposed to work.
1. rename the elevator (on floor -1) and elevator outlet (on floor 0) the same thing (this actually names the storage group) and make sure the storage settings are the same (you can't link them like other storage zones across floors)
2. in the "storage options" button for the elevator outlet, name the outlet something unique
3. in the "transport" tab of the elevator you should see a button that says something like "choose linked recipient" that when you click on it, if they are successfully linked you should see the named elevator outlet available for selection.
4. Make sure both elevator and outlet are powered on
At this point if you order a colonist on floor -1 to haul something to the elevator platform, it should automatically appear on the corresponding outlet on floor 0. For whatever reason, I haven't figured out how to make it work in the reverse direction lol.
This was their response:
"The entrance elevator can select the corresponding exit, and as long as it is powered on, the materials transported to the entrance elevator will be transported to the exit."
The material elevators are one way. one entrance, one exit. to go both ways, you need two pairs: one output and one input on one level connected to their companion on the other. Likely a limitation of the game, but still would have been nice to have that up front instead of letting people get frustrated.... I gave up on making the power boxes work and am just using Vanometric Generators on each level to power everything.
Trying to have the top level as an industrial zone with the lower levels for power and living quarters. My Pawns keeping entering and reentering the elevators between floors.
If I gain any info, ill put it here, but no promises for a while.
Sure, it's a pain when I need to load/unload, but now I don't have to search the colonist bar trying to figure out where my medic went
