A recoding in progress
This mod's going to have a bit of a code rework that'll be done... Not in any near future. While this current version will eventually be put to a serparate addon for a legacy addition, I will upkeep it to keep up with future balance and potential feature tweaking, just to ensure I have a solid groundwork for when this rework happens. No, Steve won't undergo any major gameplay changes, or is expected to.

In the meantime, I will use this as an actual thread for tips and info related to this character, as most of it is completely obscure unless you know where to look..

UNIQUE MOVES

Steve has several unique move inputs.
> NSTRONG: inputted by pressing STRONG without any directional input, or pressing ATTACK and SHIELD at the same time. This is Steve's grab, and if they have a fishing rod avaliable, will use that. Otherwise, it's a short-ranged grab.
The fishing rod variant is similar to Smash, but the bob attaching to something will not immediately force a grab state. Instead, pressing special when close to said object will put Steve and the given object into a grab state (This also applies to many objects! Experiment!). In this grab state, it's similar to smash where you can pummel, or throw in any four direction. DTHROW has a unique option where holding forward will skip the anvil and throw the grabbed down and forwards.
Without a fishing rod, it will be a short range grab that forces both parties into the grab state.
> U-FSTRONG: inputted by pressing up while charging FSTRONG. While Steve's Sweeping Edge custom move is chosen, this will switch their sword with an axe, and swings downwards, covering the space above and knocking aerial opponents downwards. The axe has a special property where hitting an enemy that's armored or parried will 'counter-parry', and treat it as if they were parried instead.
> D-FSTRONG: inputted by pressing down while charging FSTRONG. While Steve's Sweeping Edge custom move is chosen, this will switch their sword with a shovel, and swing low, covering a small space behind of Steve. Enemies caught in front will be buried if they are grounded.
> U-DSTRONG: inputted by pressing up while charging DSTRONG. Steve uses Water instead of Lava. This doesn't hurt, but it lets Steve move freely up and down, while also moving enemies and applicable objects around.
> D-USTRONG: inputted by pressing down while charging USTRONG. Steve uses their Crossbow to fire a firework a the nearest enemy in front of Steve, aiming automatically towards them. Can be cancelled, which stores the firework.
> FSTRONG (AIR): inputted by holding FSTRONG while airborne. Steve uses their Mace to land a devastating blow when falling. Can be held indefinitely until Steve lands on the ground. Hitting an enemy will create a massive shockwave that hits nearby things and even things a fair distance away.
> D-FSPECIAL: inputted by pressing DSPECIAL while riding in a Minecart. Steve places their explosive of choice in their Minecart, hopping off and letting it fly off. TNT Minecarts are volatile, and explode when flying fast enough to the ground or to an enemy.
> DTAUNT: inputted by pressing down while taunting. Steve opens up a hotbar below and can select their five useable building materials. The option selected by pressing down again (Default: Dirt) becomes the default building block for Steve, and will prefer using these blocks until KO'd or opens up the menu again.

ABOUT GIMMICKS

Steve's gimmicks are similar to his iteration in Smash, just with more inline. Some of these differences are as follows:
> Crafting Tables let Steve craft Armor after their tools, which increases their survivabilitiy with increased weight and damage reduction. This can also be given to nearby friends given you have resources and don't need any yourself.
> Steve loses a chunk of resources after a KO, as well as all diamonds.
> Steve gains access to Obsidian when mining with Diamond level tools. Obsidian is the strongest building block they have access too, and can be used to build a Nether Portal, lit up to create an instant death zone and access to the Netherite tier. Obsidian is chosen before Iron blocks, given that is their sole use as building material compared to Iron, which is super versatile.
> Unoccupied minecarts can be ridden on safely by ally and any Steve, the latter which will assign the Minecart to their team.
> It's best not to parry a TNT. Just avoid it.
> Steve can grab stage ledges and the ledges off solid objects while flying with the Elytra. They can only fall, jump, or climb up (for now).
> Holding shield, rather than activate a parry mechanic as is usual, will pull out Steve's Shield if one is avaliable. This knocks enemies back if they attack it, and lets Steve safely move slowly along the ground. Pressing attack during this period will summon a Piston, which is a good, quick attack if lacking in range. Pressing special instead summons a Slime Block, which lasts a while longer and bounces players when they land on it or run into it.
> Steve can build well off the stage boundary so long as they start near a block, or nearby solid terrain.
> Steve can build many more blocks than in Smash.

IN THE THICK OF IT

Little odd miscellanea.
> Steve has a ton of tools at their disposal, make sure to make the best of it.
> Steve's worst point is that they ride and die on their resource and preparation, so it's best to interweave prep time to gather resources and set the stage up, as their lackluster range and limited tool durability can hinder them.
> It's not wrong for Steve to get on the defensive, it's one of their better attributes.
> In teams, Steve's ability to build platforms, reel allies in with their fishing rod, provide armor and control the stage cannot go understated.
> Experiment with Steve's tools, and against the enemies'. This also cannot go understated, as they are one of the more complex characters.
