KNOWN ISSUES - Last updated Nov. 12th, 2024
This thread will be actively tracking known issues from this project.

Check Change Notes for the latest changelogs.

New bug reports can be submitted here.

Known Issues as of Stean Build Ver. 24.11.11a

- Low frame-rate during Johnson briefing and outro tunnel shot (Use low-spec version to mitigate)
- Outro cinematics have incorrect lighting.
- Brute fur shader has incorrect lighting.
- Warthog setpiece music plays before a checkpoint, so won't replay if the game is reverted.
- Workshop file size will be reduced in the future, once the magic of shared.map is untangled.
- Street light culling needs to be adjusted. Lights often fade in/out due to hitting engine limits
- Inconsistent damage effects from Uberchassis and plaza sign explosions.
- Particle effects missing from some collisions
- Flickering from Energy Sword and sun flare. This is caused by how MCC handles post-processing, and may not be fixable.
- Light beams of spotlights near the landing pad have shader differences.

Not a bug

These are on parity to how the actual build behaves, and are left as is to mirror how the real demo functioned. The included waypoint system will always show you at any time where exactly you are expected to be, and can be displayed by hitting the flashlight button.

- If running ahead of Perez during the hospital sequence, the setpieces that follow will not start until the player returns to Perez' location, until he exits the other side of the hospital
- The player is set as deathless, so fall damage doesn't apply, and the player will need to revert if they fall out of bounds of the main geometry. Pause the game and revert to checkpoint if this happens.
- The warthog sequence can softlock if errant debris enters the path of AI drivers, causing them to crash or flip. Pause the game and revert to checkpoint if this happens.
- Uberchassis, marines can change "faces" or head permutations. This is actually consistent with the original E3 build, though may be addressed in a later update for perceived consistency.
- Brute hijack sequence has difference pacing/audio once boarded. This is because we use the retail H2 hijack system where the original was a special animation. This will remain as-is.
