STAR WARS™ Empire at War: Gold Pack

Awakening of the Clone Wars
CIS Navy needs more powerful ships
It ist fine for the Republic to have powerfull ships, like the valliant, but in this case the CIS also need more counterparts, for example heavier Versions of the Providence and Bulwarks and Dreadnought-Versions of the Providence and the Recusant... Or to give all Ships of the CIS Weapons-upgrades as a Counterbalance.

Nah. Try playing republic against CIS and I guarantee you that you will change your opinion.

AI CIS absolutely slaughters republic unless the latter fields alot of command venators.

Yes i bet at a player Perspective you would be right, but lore-wise the Cis had Dreadnought-versions and a better Providence- than displayed...
I believe they said they lack models for some of these ships, maybe in the future we will see them and also bigger ships on the republic side like the Praetor. In any case, this is a game and balance is more important than anything or it would be unplayable. And both the playstyle needed to win and the current balance has been a bit challenged for this mod, not sure anyone is really happy with the way it is now, so making sure not making it worse by adding new ships is important also.

The CIS is plenty strong enough in space as it is, but they are going to get a nice new space unit next patch which I think you'll be happy with.
Well thats great, i´m looking foreward to this:)

I mean, the dreadnought providence and recusant are literally merely giant versions of the base ship and look otherwise identical. Dont think they would take new models (and indeed there is a submod that adds them)

But yeah the only weak capital ship of the CIS is the Omni (definitely nor worth its deployment space when you could have a providence instead for the same cost, and the repair drone doesnt work half the time for some reason), but the rest is all very good ships if used in their intended role (bar maybe the subjugator that seems kinda underarmed for a one-of-a-kind that costs so much and its ion weapon may be bugged as it doesnt stun anything as far as I can tell, but its sheer durability is valuable as a lightning rod ship)

We are not happy to just use scaled up models as dreadnaught versions of these ships. That would not meet our graphics standards, and so we will not include them unless we can get better models.

I mean its quite literally what they are even in the shows. Wonder what could be done to them to still stay faithful to what they are while stil providing that higher standard.. more detailed textures and turrets maybe?

FotR have some good examples, shame they won't share.
