You get the mod by subscribing to it on steam and waiting for it to finish downloading.
Unfortunately, it requires a steam only patch, so you cannot obtain AotCW outside of this.
To launch the mod, you have two options:
Firstly, just launch Forces of Corruption, go to options, mods and select AotR. At this point the game should reboot with the mod enabled. This may however take a few attempts.
If you weren't aware, to open Forces of Corruption you need to open Empire at War from steam rather than from a shortcut.
Secondly, you can use the launch options method. Right click on Empire at War in steam and go to properties, set launch options. Paste STEAMMOD=3387971722 into this field. After doing this, whenever you launch forces of corruption it will launch with the mod enabled.
If you later want to play a different mod or the base game, simply remove that line from launch options.
Well, this isn't really a question, but it needs addressing nonetheless.
Like any good mod, balance is very important to us and we do value feedback about this. However, please do not offer views about balance without having put a decent amount of time into the mod and having played as both factions. For example, do not try to tell us that the CIS is overpowered or that Providences are too strong if you have not played as both factions and both used and fought against Providences.
Finding a game difficult is not the same thing as that game being unbalanced.
As its description explains, the random map already in game is intended to randomise all the planets between factions, not to be a single planet start map.
Our intention is to add some more galactic conquest maps at some point, and to implement single or two planet start on one of these.
That said, this is not a priority for us and won't be added any time soon.
You may have noticed that we have a separate pinned discussion for bug reports. We also have a dedicated channel on our discord for this. Please remember that bug fixing takes time, and also double check that something is indeed a bug before reporting it. We also need detail on reports. Just saying 'it crashed in space battle' is a bit useless.
The following are base game bugs we cannot fix:
- Autoresolve is a broken mess.
- If a player is attacked on the ground, sells everything and then hits autoresolve, the next battle they find themselves in will be autoresolved without being given a choice.
-If a planet has a full 10 unit garrison stationed there and it is blockaded, any unit or building produced will remain at 99% complete until the blockade is lifted.
There is also a set of things which are frequently reported as bugs but aren't, including:
-Not being able to bring certain heroes into battle. This applies to various non-combat heroes, including Darth Sidious. Some of these will still have powerful abilities if they are on a planet when it is attacked, but cannot be brought into offensive engagements.
Known bugs include:
-The game crashes upon capturing the final planet.
No.
