Drastic Modifiers
DoodleBro 29 Dec, 2024 @ 10:58pm
idk if i should be starting a discussion over a suggestion but here goes
reforge suggestion! because i felt quite drastic myself... man this isn't going well-
yk i always thought "snail speed" and "insane speed" (as in, use speed i think) on swords was some sort of tier thing rather than secretly being numbers
how about reforges that bump your weapon up or down those tiers? Probably stick to the minimum value of a tier, for convenience. ALSO because i lack self control there's some special perks, whoops. I'll keep it tame at 1 reforge per class (whoops, summons don't even get a tier bump 'cuz why!)
Exceeding (melee)
- Bumps speed up by 2 tiers
- +10% crit
- Chaining crits deals more and more damage, quickly initiating diminishing results.
Premium (ranged)
- Bumps speed down a few tiers
- +10% crit
- Crits ricochet from anything without the projectile being destroyed but lose damage (it should still go on for a while until being too weak (which by then it should die out as well))
- Crits have a big boost in projectile velocity but chaining reduces the bonus.
Stellar (magik)
- Bumps speed down a few tiers.
- At maximum mana, all stats +40%. Around middle capacity, way less. At 25% and lower, +80%.
- You can cast once without the sufficient mana. Recharges upon refilling mana to the brim. If that free cast was a crit, instead gain 2 of them the next time. Only the last one can crit and give a bonus free cast.
Brimming (s)
- All minion stats -25% (could be harsher idk)
- x1.5 minions. Rounds up to 2 in cases where it's a limit of 1 of that minion or a group of special minions.
- Random boost to mana cost between +100% and +300% (bet you don't see such thing often, yea it could potentially lock summons if your max mana is very low).

And now the unbalanced one.
Ultimate
- All stats +15%
- Bumps speed up by 2 tiers
- 10% crit
- Chaining crits deals more and more damage, quickly initiating diminishing results.
- Crits harboring projectiles allow them to ricochet from anything without the projectile being destroyed but lose damage (it should still go on for a while until being too weak (which by then it should die out as well))
- Additionally crits have a big boost in projectile velocity but chaining reduces the bonus.
- At maximum mana, all stats +40%. Around middle capacity, way less. At 25% and lower, +60%. Applies to non-magic weapons as well.
- For magic weapons, you can cast once without the sufficient mana or maybe even condition. Recharges upon refilling mana to the brim. If a free cast was a crit, gain additional free casts the next time per crit. Limit of 4 free casts (...or not, whatever).
- x1.5 minions. Rounds up to 2 in cases where it's a limit of 1 of that minion or a group of special minions.
alternative names: Peaked, Complete, Epoch, Periastron, Super, Hyper (screw Ultra, overused), Proper, Blithering, Watered Up (im funny), 2.0 at the end??
be harsh with criticism i kinda deserve it on this one i think

Hello there! You are obviously very creative given that you were able to write so much more than I was when it comes to vivid ideas.

While I do appreciate the effort, at the moment I lack the ability to code pretty much all these in their entirety. I made this as my first C# project and am just starting to wrap my head around the language.

Additionally, it was outside the scope of this mod to make unbalanced weapon modifiers - but I do see the appeal and might make an alternate unbalanced version of this mod.

yoo! if i wanted i could write like 50 before my fingers gave out, but i understand, totally shouldn't, most mod devs expand onto other ideas anyways
good luck in your coding adventure, hadn't started mine properly yet (if i ever will lol)
