[B42] Week One NPC
SUGGESTIONS/IDEAS/SCENARIOS :)
[If I think of other suggestions/ideas, I'll list them here! Or if you'd like, list your own in the comments so we can keep them confined to one thread! :)]

After playing Week One more seriously over the last couple days, I noticed things here and there (or in some cases, lack thereof) that I think would be great additions in a future update. Keep in mind though that some of this is just spit-balling and if it's too difficult to code in, no harm done! :)

___________

PROFESSIONS

* Body Collector: As the title suggests, if a death occurs whether by you or by happenstance somewhere in the world, Body Collectors will show up just after paramedics or police are finished inspecting the scene, and take away the corpses, either dropping them off at a medical clinic to simulate morgues, or simply the bodies disappear to simulate them being taken away. Players can take up this job by dropping bodies off in a medical clinic or area for $20 per corpse. Not realistic, but definitely funny as hell.

OPTIONS

* Purchase a home: If using a mod that allows you to spawn in different locations, you tend to spawn in a shop or business, leaving you basically homeless. Or maybe you don't like your current home. All the starting homes in each town will have a For Sale sign, allowing you the option to purchase a home for $500-$1000 depending on the house. This would likely be more applied to the settings allowing you to play pre-outbreak beyond the first week. Regardless, this will allow you to live in this home without worrying about people going "tHiS iS mY PlAcE!" :)

* Attach Water/Power/Erosion to time: Bad title, but the idea is that the time for the power going out, water shutting off, and erosion creeping up in the world depends solely on how long it takes for the outbreak to happen. By default, it's active and in effect for the One Week option. But for Ten Years, it would take ten years for all three to be affected, simulating society functioning long into the years before the apocalypse. This prevents the world looking run down and overgrown despite people going about their lives.

* Restocking shelves: When active, shelves will restock with supplies until the outbreak reaches critical mass.

* No Military Presence (Until X amount of time): I know this is technically already in the options with the multiplier, but a lot of what happens is dependent on military presence, from dialogue with NPCs to the blockades. If possible, it would be nice to have the option to disable or delay military presence until a certain amount of time has passed to implicate a growing threat. So say the military doesn't show up until Days 4 or 5 to indicate the situation has progressed enough that the National Guard is deployed. This way, players get a sense of normalcy before things start to come crashing down.

WORLD

* Schedules: This would be an optional setting, but the idea is that NPCs have designated schedules to be outdoors or at work. From 9AM to 5PM for the most part, shops will be open for business, though some will be open 24/7 like gas stations. Most NPCs would be out and about during the morning, afternoon, and evening, but once night falls around 9PM, NPCs would return home and very few would be active outdoors to simulate sleep schedules.

* Time-Accurate music for ambient events (parties, etc.). Not a huge pet peeve, but it's a little odd that these parties are playing music from the 2000s up to possibly the 2020s despite the game taking place in 1993. Funny, though. Maybe they could be optional music choices? Either way, it would be nice to jam to songs like Rhythm is a Dancer. ;)

SCENARIOS

As the title suggests, the introduction of Scenarios would basically set up a series of default presets, as well as allow players to create their own based off what mods they have installed.

The main presets would be:

* KNOX INFECTION: This is basically the default as in Week One. Knox Infection spreads, airborne infection kills most NPCs, survivors are immune except fluid strain.

* WILDFIRE: Based off the virus from The Walking Dead, everyone is infected with the virus and will turn upon death or following bites/scratches from zombies. After a couple days, you may encounter one or two followed by police intervention. As the days pass, more will appear and more police shootings will occur. This allows the panic to reach a critical mass when enough have turned. Zombies are all slow shamblers.

* RAGE: Based off the Rage Virus from 28 Days Later, the infection spreads through bites and scratches and takes 0-1 minutes to turn into a zombie. This means the virus can spread out of control quick. Think of Day One except the first half is normal, then the next half is SHTF.

* CORDYCEPS: This would require the "The Last of Us Infected" mod, but essentially the entire week plays almost the same up until the last two days. Day 5 would include people suddenly feeling sick and going to medical clinics/centers. Day 6 would see isolated incidents of violence that quickly ramp up as more people succumb to the infection. Day 7 would be Outbreak Day as the infection reaches critical mass and try to flee from the chaos.

NO SCRIPTED OUTBREAK

This would probably be a very tricky one, and I'd understand if coding it would be a pain and a half. This would basically remove the "scripts" or triggers that allow the week to play out as normal. In the sense I'm thinking of, this would basically be like the first day, but now how things play out depends entirely on your settings. So basically the outbreak can just happen on its own whenever you or the world wanted, and once it reached a critical mass, it would trigger a Day One-esque event. The outbreak is almost completely dynamic.

EVENT SLIDERS

Event sliders would apply to various things that occur on specific days, such as looters, rioters, gang members, criminals, etc. At the moment, things start to boil over around Day 4, a whole day before zombies even start to appear, and as tense as it is, it's jarring to see society collapse well before the catalyst that would justify it.

These sliders would allow players to determine when specific things to occur, whether they occur before other events, after other events, and so on. This would give players a bit more control over how long everything is normal and when exactly things fall apart.

For example, say everything is normal for the first two days, then on Day 3 a zombie or two appears somewhere. Police show up and take care of the threat. This then triggers protests. Day 4, more zombies appear, and police take care of the issue. Protests grow, which eventually escalate into riots by, say, Day 5. Zombies continue to show up more and more, culminating into an Outbreak Day of sorts where police, fire, and emergency services are overwhelmed. Day 6 going into Day 7, society is collapsing as zombies start to outnumber humans.

CHOOSE THE DAY

I know the point of the mod is to experience the week before the outbreak, but it would be nice to have the option to decide what day we start on so the wait isn't as long for things to break down. It would also give players a more stricter time limit before things start to collapse. Having two days to prepare as opposed to 5-6 would be tense.

CHOOSE THE DAY IT ALL COLLAPSES

Alternatively from but similarly to the above subject point, this would simply allow players to decide when exactly the total collapse (Day 7-8) occurs. This means players can decide that everything is fine from Days 1-3, then suddenly on Day 4, it's like Day One: NPCs running for their lives, zombies in the streets, people fleeing chaos as the world falls around them. Really gives a calm before the storm type vibe.

I'll give this a bump only in case someone wants to pitch in their own ideas. I figured this would be a "general" thread for those who want to suggest ideas since there's no pinned Suggestions thread for Week One as opposed to Day One. :)
another idea, make it more lore friendly where Louisville is safe for on week after the county falls and then is eventually invaded and destroyed by infected also maybe some sort of execution to Louisville could take place in the major cites
