Hey man,
I wanted to shoot you another reply since I feel obligated to own up to my mistakes.
While working on update 13, I was messing around with the helmets & I noticed that you were in-fact 100% correct. At the time, I was under the impression any bugs of the nature you mentioned would be model related.
Turns out I had accidentally changed the "shininess" value of the helmet you mentioned from 8 to -2 when I was adding concealment modifiers to the helmets which resulted in the issue you stated.
So my bad dude, you were right & it has been fixed.
