Abyss Runes
I was thinking that some armor passives, ship upgrades, and boosters from the game could make for good Abyss Runes. Here's my take on converting them to the Aether format. These are likely incredibly overpowered because I do not know how to game balance.


1-cost

A: Peak Physique: Increases melee damage (i.e. any attack that does not involve shooting a gun)

B: Vitality Booster: Slightly decreases incoming knockback.

C: Firebomb Hellpods: Hellpods create fiery explosions when landing, dealing damage and inflicting Zetterburn fire. If there's a Zetterburn on your team, he will likely be very happy.

D: Hellpod Space Optimization: Support Weapon Stratagems come with more ammo.

E: Stamina Enhancement: Increases dash speed.

F: Muscle Enhancement: Increases jump height.


2-cost

G: Light Armor: Increases Speed but decreases defense, taking more damage and knockback. You have a slightly smaller hitbox.

H: Heavy Armor: Increases Defense, taking less damage and knockback, but decreases speed. You have a slightly larger hitbox.

I: High-Density Explosives: Increases blast radius of explosive stratagems.

J: More Guns: Unlocks Orbital Barrages. You can use 120mm (smaller booms, more accurate), 380mm (bigger booms, less accurate), Napalm (small booms that leave fire puddles, volleys of 5 instead of 3), or Walking Barrage (380mm that sweeps from left to right or right to left, depending on facing direction when called in.) Barrages have a long shared cooldown.

K: Supply Pack: Unlocks the Supply Pack stratagem. While wearing the Supply Pack, Support Weapons (aside from the EAT-17) will not be discarded when empty, and can be reloaded by holding CROUCH for a few seconds. You can manually discard empty support weapons by holding NSPECIAL. The Supply Pack has 4 charges, which can be replenished with the Resupply stratagem.

(Resupply is a stratagem unlocked by some Abyss Runes. It has a 90 second cooldown and refills support weapon ammo, Supply Pack charges, and Stims (if you have another abyss rune that enables them.) The supply pod holds 4 boxes, each one gives up to 50% support weapon ammo, 1 supply pack charge, and up to 2 stims. Other players can attack the resupply pod to destroy it and knock the boxes loose. Boxes on the ground can be picked up by crouching on them. Non-Helldivers may pick these boxes up to heal 10%.)


3-cost

L: Experimental Infusion: You have 4 stims. Press DOWN+PARRY to use one and gain healing over time as well as increased Speed and Defense. Can be used on allies if you're standing next to them. Stims can be replenished with Resupply.

M: DEMOCRACY PROTECTS (yes, it has to be all caps): 50% chance to survive and take no knockback when hit with an attack that would probably kill you (trigger star background). When using a Stamina Mode buddy, survive with 1 HP instead. When triggered, the Helldiver will flash a brilliant gold and an eagle's screech will play in the background to inform of the activation (so it isn't just like "how tf did you survive that for no reason")

N: Flexible Reinforcement Budget: When on last stock, surviving for 2 minutes gives you an extra stock. Also allows you to consume your own stocks to Reinforce dead teammates in team battles and co-op modes.

O: Advanced Armor: Activates the armor passive of the armor you selected in the lobby. Shows a brief description of the effect upon entering the match.


Advanced Armor Passives

Extra Padding: Increases Defense. Defense increase is equal to Heavy Armor's increase and Light Armor's decrease.

Servo Assist: Stratagems can be thrown instead of placed by holding the last input. Increases the throwing distance of DSMASH grenade by 30%.

DEMOCRACY PROTECTS: See above. If using both the rune version and the armor version, provides a small buff to all stats for a short time upon triggering.

Engineering Kit: Incoming knockback slightly reduced when hit while crouching. Vastly reduces the cooldown of DSMASH.

Med Kit: You carry two stims. Increases stim effect duration by 2 seconds. Unlike Rune L, they only provide healing. Also unlocks Resupply. If used with L, you have a max of 6 stims and those buffs last 2s longer as well.

Scout: Grants more i-frames on dodges and FSPECIAL. (idfk what to do with a recon passive in a platform fighter lolol)

Peak Physique: See Rune A. If both versions are used, increases both damage and knockback of melee instead of just damage.

Unflinching: Grants super armor for one hit on smash attacks and during NSPECIAL.

(don't know what to do with space ranger, umbrella corps, bucket heads, or mobile infantry so feel free to get wild with the passives for those)
