Hello, so I downloaded this god forsaken game just to test this mod out. No other mods used

AI really struggles with cav charges vs other cav. In custom battle I used one unit of reiksguard to kill 4 units of knights of the realm by just charging at them, and they always turned their back and never actually engaged. My reiksguard only lost one man and killed units.

In other battle, I put imperial general on foot against brettonian general on foot, and the battle was endless. Neither unit seemed to inflict any actual damage, most likely thanks to the armour changes. So in a scenario where only the two would have to battle it out, the timer would possibly run out before that.

In other battle, I tried putting 4 swordsmen against brettonian general on foot, and he was absolutely massacring them, since the swords couldn´t pierce his armour. The bret lord was wavering all the time tho, thanks to the moral penalties of being surrounded, which are a bit too stark imo, since the unit was full and winning. At some point though, the bret unit decided to disengage from a fight they were winning, and suffered some HP damage from pulling trough the enemy. At that point their morale broke and the battle ended with brettonians having 2 losses and empire roughly 150.

In another battle, I tried combined arms. I had imperial lord on foot, 2 swordsmen, 2 halberds, one handgun unit, 1 reiksguard against 1 Bret lord on foot, 2 knights errant, 1 archer and 4 swordsmen. The battle started out ok, with enemy cav trying to bypass my halberds on the flanks, actively avoiding them. One go caught and got damaged easily, which is how it should be in this matchup. The other one got away and had to be intercepted by reiksguard. Here the problem from the first battle appeared again, where even with no chance to escape, the bret cav refused to engage, constantly trying pull trough, resulting in them suffering heavy losses while inflicting none. Enemy inf got shot by guns, suffering heavy losses, as it should be. But then they refused to charge my inf, again trying to pull trough, and got killed or routed.

Idk what it is but the battle AI is somehow broken, and armour is a bit too strong. I will try to replicate this and do some further testing in the future just to be sure

Well, your observations about AI are alarming.

I've just finished testing it a bit and the issue with commitment to melee combat is also prevailing in vanilla, so I don't think the mod is the cause in this instance. Which is unfortunate
Hmmm then maybe we are playing on different versions of the game, since in my version of vanilla game, the battle AI functions flawlessly. I tried the scenarios again and the AI was much better in vanilla. Granted I have no idea what might be causing this. To be noted as well, this problem never existed in your old Realism mod, so it probably is one of the new changes

It should be a little bit better, but, provided you have a moment, please let me know if I'm correct.
