Animations not playing for player 2 in local split-screen
Issue where player 2 has no animations for zombie deaths when playing split-screen locally on one machine.

I tried again just now on Local Split-Screen. We don't do it over a network we play on the same machine. I moved this mod to the bottom of the load order after subscribing and resubscribing.

Again, when I was alone in the game the ragdolls were working. When player 2 joined, their kills instantly just fell to the ground, even when using firearms.

I do work with a lot of mods, but none that cover anything melee related. I wasn't able to replicate the problem with the other mod. I'm going to experiment and see if both of your mods will work side-by-side.

Player 2 having no animations whatsoever sounds weird. My mod only touches on XML files located in media/AnimSets/zombie/falldown-* folders, along with a small script that runs a simple timer along with OnZombieDead event which makes the dead ragdolls into corpses.

There might be a conflict somewhere with the falldown animations. If you can, could you try playing in split-screen with this mod only to see if there is something weird going on with the mod files?

Alright I will try to run a game with only the mod installed in split-screen and see if that makes a difference. I did try to run both Ragdoll Mods at the same time and the only times ragdolls seemed to occur for player 2 is when pistol-shots sometimes landed.

With your mod, the zombies would fall and die in their default death pose without an animation getting them to the ground. Have you seen the XML file for the other mod? I wonder if there is a separate designation for player 2 in that one? Of course, my knowledge is limited.

Started a new game, just your mod enabled. It worked.

Alas, now I must attempt to figure out WHICH mod of mine isn't liking yours:spiffo:

Good to hear we have progress :D

It sounds like there is a mod that is also doing something with falldown animations. But this is a weird one since it would make sense then that the animations would be bugged out in singleplayer also. If you find the conflicting mod, will you let me know?

I have submitted all of my current mods to a collection just in case you can tell off-the-bat which one you would think is the culprit.

I have these listed as suspects right now:
-More Traits-
-Combat Traits-
-Point Blank-
-Evolving Traits World-
-Knife Animation-

It's hard to say, I'd need to see the files. Anything to do with animations is a possible suspect. I checked Knife Animations but it adds animations to the player, shouldn't affect zombie falldown animations.

You could do a search for falldown in the folder where all the workshop mods are located. That would show which mods edit files located in falldown animation folders.

Based on your suggesstion: The culprit may just be the bandits mod! That was the only other one that came up with the Falldown search query.

I wonder, If I'm able to take your code for falldown and override theirs within the folder?

It is, in fact the Bandits mod. I see that they don't have a line of code written for enabling Rag-doll. I shall see what happens when I do the aforementioned edit.

Without the bandits mod enabled, the Ragdolls were there for both sides of the split-screen.

I also tested split-screen with Bandits and my mod and was able to replicate your issue. Load order didn't seem to matter either. I'll mess around and see if I can find a way to make the mods work together.

Thanks for helping!

Of course! I am looking forward to having it work to completion if possible. The Bandit NPC's have changed the game for us here playing local split-screen since we don't go online.

Once again, Thank you.

For what it's worth I tested Bandits mod in split-screen without my mod and it is still missing zombie death animations for player 2 and spits out the same error message. So looks like Bandits mod has a bug with split-screen mode itself, not necessarily conflicting with my mod.

I'll send a bug report to Slayer about it.

Ok. I tried to use your fallback code to override the two folders included in his mod that have it also to no avail. Hopefully they will be willing to help.
