Problem with Controlling Archers during Siege Defense in Bannerlord Shokuho
Hi, I'm playing Bannerlord Shokuho and I've encountered an issue while defending cities. Currently, I’m playing as a mercenary, and when I defend a settlement (I haven't tried defending a castle yet), I lose control over my ranged units. In vanilla Bannerlord, switching their formation from "scattered" to another one would solve the issue and they would start responding again. However, in Shokuho, no matter what formation I put them in, I still can't control them. Neither "Fall Back" nor "Retreat" commands work, and as a result, they just stand still under the walls while the enemies jump on top of them, making them completely useless.

Does anyone know how to regain control of your ranged units during siege defense in Shokuho?

i wish bannerlord was a good game :steamsalty:
My theory is that archers are programmed to fill defensive positions, such as along the wall, by chokepoints behind gates etc. However, when a position is lost, the enemies have breached the gate/scaled the walls, and killed the defenders there, the archers still want to fill those positions and therefore getting themselves killed trying to reach them. A workaround I found is to transfer your archers to the infantry squad and order them to fire at will. They won't be able to shoot from the walls anymore but they can add more bodies to chokepoints, hindering the enemy advance.

yeh this bothers me too. i want to reposition all troops so i can design a better defense at a choke point ..... but the game simply overrides my commands and all sieges are just on tracks that i can only take part in and witness rather than command and control ..... it makes a large part of the game not enjoyable
