difference between soviet snipers and my gripe with scout sniper (solved)
I've been doing some mild testing and i cant seem to find a good use for the scout sniper.

i find ania and the partisans are just better.

in detail, partisans are have a chance to not kill but also has a higher chance to double kill (i think). they can throw smoke, run, and place charges. very cheap with a dash of versatility. they just don't have tents.

scout sniper is the most expensive. it has a tent to heal and flares to help with vision. sweet.

BUT THEN YOU GOT THE SUPER SNIPER ANIA
does everything from tents, flares, speed, and she can even create her own cover. More durable then the 2 in a gun fight and faster aim speed makes her a nice quick shot against mg

so my gripe is "is there any use for prioritizing the scout sniper?"

you COULD get it sure, specially if your skipping t2. but i find that scout sniper is not only the most expensive but the most lackluster. why wouldnt you just switch a scout sniper with basically anyone else.

am i missing something here? one thing i can think of is to prevent spamming, but the partisans are like 280 mp so thats not really the reason.

i dont think it needs a buff, i just need a reason for it to become a main stay sniper instead of something you switch away to get ania.

EDIT: ok i found one use, partisan snipers have really bad aim even with 3 stars. so when i tested it with 2 obs and 2 fusiliers in green cover at max vet, partisan got bodied. So meaning its actually better to have scout against high dodge unit or high cover maps. ania will always be a better sniper but requires t2 and you can only have 1 unlike the scout snips, which is good for MASSIVES amount of vision.

partisan - best vs open fields, best vs low dodge targets, smoke, charges, run, double the fire rate, cheap. Can miss.

scouts - cluttered landscapes, high dodge targets, flare, tent. Expensive

ania - flare and run, best vs cluttered landscapes, best vs high dodge targets, longer range, tent, sniper position, charges, most durable. Only 1 can be made

The Scout sniper and Ania have the most reliable weapons. The Partisan Snipers and the Scout sniper have the most hp (2x64 while Ania has 1x 82) and can retreat when losing one model. Ania and the Partisan sniper have better abilities, although this require munitions while these squads themselves have lower initial cost.

I think it depends on personal preference. They are designed with differences and some might be
easier to use then others, but I am not sure if one is just the best. The Scout sniper has the combination of a good reliable weapon, high total hp, two models and as downside only a few abilities.

It gets +0,25 armor on top of the default 1.

That means it will be 25% more durable against infantry fire. It has no effect against explosives and bigger guns.

In most games, you don't even want any of the other variants because Ania is... quite op. She can just survive the attack of a scout car just enough to get into the HQ, nevermind when she is vet up. If you are playing 1 vs 1 SOV, not having Ania is just not right xD

Close, but the formula for infantry body armor is the same for tanks

Infantry small arms have a penetration value of 1 (Excluding anti-tank rifles)
The formula for penetration (Penetrating Value / Amount of Armor) multiplied by 100

Therefore (1/1.25)*100 is equivalent to an 80% chance for a shot to penetrate the sniper
This means that an armor value of 1.25 has a deflection chance of 20% per shot.

Also note that body armor does not reduce damage against explosions and splash damage so a 222 Scout Car, Luchs Tank or Panzer IV can easily chew through a sniper with minimal effort on top of their accuracy bonuses.
