getting the mod to work
i can use the mod but when one of my friends join that has it as well wont let the game start because it says he doesn't have it

The easiest method is to send your mod file to your friend to be sure you have the same version as well. It is located here: C:\Users\NAME\Documents\my games\company of heroes 2\mods\tuning\subscriptions\350031348.sga

Do you both have the Steam version of the game? I have heard the Microsoft Game Pass version of the game does not support mods, even though vanilla crossplay works.
