whoa please dont use the movie 300 as a revrence to persian wars. I did read a comment that archers were op. during the battle of Plataea, the persians showered the greeks for days, yes days, and the death toll was incredibly low. this is because Hoplite armour protected its man from death. According to Herodotus the heavy armour of the greeks was the main reason for victory over the immortals also. Persia should be a massive mob with a small elite infantry and an exeptionally elite cavalary force. Morale should also be important. The majority of the Persian forces were pressed into service, and did flee very quickily. I do agree with kingston about the need for massive forces though.
