To have Red and Blue skins available for all handguard/barrel types, not just compact.

I could not find red/blue texture for assault foregrip - if you can link me to them, Ill b glad to add them.

Do any of the UV textures that you already have for the assault foregrip (tan, black, or green) look like they could be photomanipulated to be the same color as the red/blue compact textures? Would it be okay for me to rip the textures and attempt this in GIMP?

I used color filtering and overlay on the tan assault foregrip after using color picker on the red/blue compact textures. Then I darkened the tan foregrip while I had the area I was recoloring selected. It looks like I got the colors pretty close, but they are still brighter than the compacts' texture colors, so I'm not sure if it will blend with the stock and receiver. I don't have much experience doing this.

Good start but try to play with them a little bit more.
You can test them yourself:
- create "Assault_Foregrip.vtf"
- drop it into "Steam Files\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\materials\models\qq_rec\v_rif_xm8"

I'm not sure if I can do these. I am having problems with pixel bleedover and blur/overfiltering problems.

It appears that some parts of the texture are providing color information for more than one area of the gun. (especially around the edges of the handgrip)

The way I'm changing the color is also causing some parts of the texture to blur. The "surface finish" part of the texture is contrasting too much with the rest of the texture as well.

What software are you using? Wouldnt it be possible only to select the (for example) tan part of texture and apply all edits to it? If I get it wrong feel free to add me to discuss.

I'm using GIMP.

I'm not aware of such a feature, but I haven't really done much with GIMP yet.

Does gimp support layers? Try copying layer, deleting parts that you dont want to edit and cover original with edited.
