[Obsolete] Natural Gravity - make asteroids have ship-pulling gravity
I need some help regarding the directory tree and the config
I cannot, for the life of me, find the directory that was listed ( %AppData%/SpaceEngineers/Storage/ ). Some assistance?

Also, I have nothing that can edit SBM files, and the in-game commands do not seem to work.

%appdata% is a system wide variable that should lead to something like "C:\Users\<YourUser>\AppData\Roaming\", if you type %appdata% in a folder's adress bar it should lead you directly to where your appdata folder is.

But the path doesn't stop there, the "378084827.sbm_NaturalGravity" is also a folder, inside it you'll find the "config.txt" file.

I don't know why the commands don't work for you... did you add the mod to the worlds' mod list ? Do you have other mods that might use the /ng command ?

I did add the mod to the world's mod list, and I don't have any other mods that use the command. I know the mod was working because I was able to activate gravity on an asteroid... and at the default setting, it had disasterous results.

I assume you added gravity using /ng create ? If that's the case, commands work as well - unless a specific command doesn't in which case you'll need to be specific.

Let me know if you found that config.txt file.
That path is the only path I can use to write files to.

Okay, I managed to find the file. Here are the settings that I changed.

affect_ships=True mass_limit=30000 mass_divide=7.5 jetpack=60 jetpack_hover=True notify=True asteroid_prefix=gravity_ asteroid_maxsize=4096 radius_min=500 radius_max=5000 strength_min=0.01 strength_max=0.33

I was playing on the "Asteroids" world template in survival, and was in the standard respawn ship. Once I enabled gravity on the asteroid, the ship started drifting. I carried it as far away as I could (extremely far), but it was still coming in too fast... and when it finally got back to the asteroid under the force of gravity alone, it had so much velocity that the rear half of it was disintegrated entirely.

Well, the mod did tell you what radius and strength the asteroid had for its gravity when you created it :P

And I hope you understood from the config's comments that those radius/strength_min/max settings only affect newly created gravity fields. You can edit existing ones with /ng strength and /ng radius.

Respawn ships spawn with dampeners off which is probably why it accelerated so much... not sure about the disintegration part, the game has no structural strength calculations for individual grids, it must've hit something that made its back vanish xD

The first respawn ships' thrusters are strong enough to gently land it in 0.333G, but it won't take off unless you use the back thrusters.

Well, what do you think of my settings? Are they good enough that if I mine ores, the gravity will keep them from flying off into space, therebody resulting in me having to fly after them to grab them?

If you're in gravity when mining, so will the rocks :}
