But these idea's are good brain food, so I'll consider them for a bit.
The overarching theme is that this character cost's more to make him effective, but the major difference between him and wolfgang is that wolfgang has to maintain a full hunger which gets an increasing drain, where as this character just simply needs to make expensive gear.
In initial testing there was no nightmare spear, I simply had the character designed to only really be effective in combat once he obtained a dark sword. But I experienced similar frustrations as you did, so I gave the nightmare spear as a method to get on wilson's level of combat at an earlier rate but for a cost (High cost is this character's theme essentially).
If your worried about the flint cost's getting to you consider gathering a large amount of gold and crafting gold tools instead of flint ones. Gold tool's last longer than flint and gold becomes much easier to obtain once you've found the pig king. Eventually flint will only be useful for thermal stone's and spears, so at that point you'll have plenty of extra flint lying around.
If your concern is consuming all the flint available and leaving nothing for other players... Then let the other players handle the combat instead, you can be in charge of non-combat duties like sticks, grass, shoveling, construction, lumber chopping. You shine at the shadow manipulator portion, until then play using your cunning, and bear with the struggles of expensive combat.
There are also non-combat options for dealing with most threat's in the game. Consider using trap's for dealing with spiders, this character was designed so that his equipment is more expensive, but has greater value once obtained. The nightmare spear is merely intended as a way to allow you to deal with selective threat's, like nightmare creature's or hounds. The wereball helmet serve's an identical purpose, except that unlike the nightmare spear, it still gets the durability and reduction bonus.
The "fighting with non-imbued weaponry causing sanity loss instead of initial damage penalty" is an interesting idea, as is the "imbued weapons deal extra damage to shadow creatures." I'll consider them for testing run's.
Why don't you kill yourself you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ autist?
For every character I see in the DST workshop that's someone's 'Original Character', I die a little inside.
My day turns bad every time I sift through DST characters looking for a decent one.
There's so much autism.
Original Characters, "This is what I would look like in DST," Furries, Anime Characters.
This place is a cesspool.
As for what I wanted to accomplish?
I just wanted you to know my suggestion. I think it would be a win for everyone if you commited suicide.
Nobody! because argueing with 9 year olds is impossibile, so, were just gonna ignore ya...mr.wayne kurr
Edit: Heh, I was lookin at yer profile, seems like youve got an Explosive "personality"
i cant wait to see you get banned again. :3
You got me. Over 9000? I can't compete with those kind of memes.
I concede defeat.
I take it you haven't even tried the character, your just judging it on theme correct?
I tend to focus more on mechanical functionality than I do on theme, theme was just something I decided to put in because "meh why not, make him look edgy since it fits the playstyle"
I actually worked pretty hard to make the character play with similar difficulty and depth as the original cast, as I want to keep the integrity of the original game intact without changing too much.
So I think you picked the wrong mod to unload your hate on, because if your only problem was how the character looked, you could have just said that without looking like a complete ass. But then again, you didn't say anything constructive at all. I don't even know what your looking for with your statement.
I listen to everyone that comments on my mod's so you very much could have had the chance to get something you wanted, but I can't read minds so you gotta actually say what your looking for.
And no, suicide is not an option, it's a good thing none of my friends with depression recieved your "suggestion."
A friend of mine really likes your mod's theme and design, so yeah. Just ignore the troll and focus on the positives ^^;
What's more unfortunate is I can't just delete the post, it apparently has to stay there until they remove it
Still, I've seen modders get really burned out by people like that so yeah... just trying to do my bit to counteract that.
