Block and Model Plans
I think I'm going to see about making a model for the small refinery types like the Arc Furnace. I want to get a base line and a process in place so I can churn them out regurlaly. After that would be anywhere from 1-4 custom models for them, then Big refineries, then Assemblers, and finally other blocks.

Depending on how ambitious I am and time constraints, I might just stick different doodads on each type to differentiate the look of the base model or at the very least re-texture them. I can save a little time using existing build state models from Keen if I keep the block size uniform. However, I'm thinking the Chemical Assembler and Gas Refinery should have totally custom models with roundy bits on them to represent compressed gas/Liquid storage.

I want to stick with the same block size as Vanilla where possibile while still keeping the general Keen style.

The overall progression plan for production will be:
-Emergency Refinery - slow, inneficent, cheap to make, only refines things needed for basic survival blocks.

-Small refineries -Arc Furnace, Small Solids, Small Precious Metals, etc - slightly more expensive to build, more efficent and a little faster.

-Big Refineries -Larger versions of small refineries. Faster than small, but take up alot of space due to needing several different ones to cover all ores.

-Current Refinery -Fastest , takes up less space, 2 or 3 can output as much material as all of the
Big refineries combined. Expensive to build.

Assemblers will follow the same pattern.

I'm not sure If I want to do a second level of components. Having played through what I've already set up, I think it would be getting too complex for players to play and myself to maintain.

Funny thing is, after looking at your mod around a year ago, I thought about several additions to it. I come back today, and find that you've implemented just about all of them :) One thing that I was thinking about that wasn't there was something I called the Plasma Separator, more specifically something like this:

The other was an alloy foundry, similar I imagine to your chemical assembler, but for alloys such as steel (Iron, Carbon, Manganese) and Bronze (Copper, Zinc)

Anyway, thanks for making this, it makes the game a whole helluvalot richer

There's still alot I haven't done. Mostly because making models is extremely time consuming.
I really want to get XL refineries and XL assemblers in.

What are the current plans on updating the models in game?

Plans are to add more block variations with different capabilities once I can release the Materials re-vamp...
