Homeworld Remastered Collection

Tactical Fleet Simulator (v2.9.3)

Troubles with running
I have some troubles, so maybe someone too.

What I'm doing:
1) Steam -> Library -> HWRemastered -> Run
2) Choose "Mods" in the right botom
3) Click HW2 Classic, choose TFS, in the command line add " -mod TFSv2.9.big".
4) Click "Run"

But nothing happening (only launcher closes).

As I suppose, TFS can work with HW2 Remastered, but in "Mods" menu I don't see TFS for HW2Rm, only for HW2Classic.

Who can tell, what I'm doing wrong?

TFS v2.9.1 does not run in Homeworld Remastered, it is only compatible with Homeworld 2 Classic.

To run the mod in Homeworld 2 Classic, select the mod from the list of available mods. Click the "select" button and then double click on "Tactical Fleet Simulator (v2.9.1)" in the right list. This should load the mod. If that fails, try using the command line " -mod TFSv2.9.big".

I just think the current mod launcher is buggy at the moment because I can't start the mod 100% of the time.

I'm having this same problem. Either when I use the command line or double click on the mod or both it just closes out.

I don't think steam install's the .big files you need what i did to get my mods to work is the normal way. Download them from Moddb transfer them to the data folder and make a shortcut with D:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod homefront.big or whatever the mod's big file name is then i just use the shortcut and not the launcher.

I'm on Win8.1 Pro x64.

Probably because I uninstalled my cd based HWC and HW2; had CCleaner clean the registry; before installing HWR/HWC/HW2 from Steam, I only had 1 issue so far - changing to widescreen resolution in HWC. That was sorted out by the registry fix someone had posted. No issues with the launcher.

It's a good practice to create a separate player profile per mod.

In my setup, Steam installs the subscribed mods in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\DataWorkshopMODs\76561198036294313. It has a numbered subfolder per mod.

So for me, running a mod goes like this:

1. From launcher, click MODS.
2. Click HW2 Classic.
3. Click mod then click select.
4. On commandline arguments, I use -hardwareCursor option.
5. Click LAUNCH.

I am having problems with this mod.
I installed the mod through steam, and have tried all the sugestions above and it wont load...the HW launcher just closes.

damn shame as this mod looks great.

I am new to using mod's so if you think i have missed something silly then please let me know,
its the only way i will learn ;]

thanks.

TFS works fine, Delete TFS and un subscribe, then resub and download, DO NOT run HWRM in any form while downloading, when you are done open the launcher, if it stalls DO NOT CLOSE IT WITH TASKMANAGER, let it get to the point where shift beta button turns orange, then go in and activate the mod normally, if you run HWRM while downloading you will run into read write errors, and if you close the launcher if it stalls it won't register the mod properly with your system.

this method works for every mod for HW2C

the above method by Jeffjr did not work for me. i select the mod in the launcher, run it, screen goes black for a a second or two then im back on the desktop. However, in my case, it turns out the base HW2 classic runs into the same issue for me. i did get it working (with mod) by running the game with the "- window" command line, but it made mouse scrolling a bit during gameplay a bit awkward.

Hey guys i kknow im a few years late to this but i found a solution,
Before launching the mod, in the command line put
" -nopbuffer -w 1920 -h 1080 "
The numbers being your screen resolution
Hope you find this helpful

Thank you so much Blacklist! It works perfectly for me now.

Big necro number 2, but for those of us who still play it may be helpful. @Battlecry for some reason, the file location in the target line suggested in the readme is wrong. It references a folder that doesn't exist, which may be the reason why running the mod from the launcher doesn't work. Either way, by changing the 76561198009344538 with 76561198035668945 in the folder path of the target line (from whatever it was to the actual folder present in the mod) it works. The correct target line is then:

"x:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe" -workshopmod 76561198035668945\398983107\TFSv2.9.big -hardwarecursor
