To run the mod in Homeworld 2 Classic, select the mod from the list of available mods. Click the "select" button and then double click on "Tactical Fleet Simulator (v2.9.1)" in the right list. This should load the mod. If that fails, try using the command line " -mod TFSv2.9.big".
I just think the current mod launcher is buggy at the moment because I can't start the mod 100% of the time.
Probably because I uninstalled my cd based HWC and HW2; had CCleaner clean the registry; before installing HWR/HWC/HW2 from Steam, I only had 1 issue so far - changing to widescreen resolution in HWC. That was sorted out by the registry fix someone had posted. No issues with the launcher.
It's a good practice to create a separate player profile per mod.
In my setup, Steam installs the subscribed mods in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Homeworld\Homeworld2Classic\DataWorkshopMODs\76561198036294313. It has a numbered subfolder per mod.
So for me, running a mod goes like this:
1. From launcher, click MODS.
2. Click HW2 Classic.
3. Click mod then click select.
4. On commandline arguments, I use -hardwareCursor option.
5. Click LAUNCH.
I installed the mod through steam, and have tried all the sugestions above and it wont load...the HW launcher just closes.
damn shame as this mod looks great.
I am new to using mod's so if you think i have missed something silly then please let me know,
its the only way i will learn ;]
thanks.
Before launching the mod, in the command line put
" -nopbuffer -w 1920 -h 1080 "
The numbers being your screen resolution
Hope you find this helpful
