Ships Mod
This discussion is for my next mod. What ships corresponding to what Civ would you guys like to see in game, this can include game concepts like tile improvements, buildings, etc.. as well.

dreadnaughts , naval bases like air bases that can be built outside your territory, troop transports, pt boats, marine corp, and if possible mine fields i know that would be hard to do the mine fields

also coastal battery would improve a cities defense against naval attack and increase its attack factor against ships

The battery is a great idea!

Anything US related lol. Los Angeles class attack submarine cause i know it exist. Their is already a mod that adds a naval fort. Works the same way it does on land on water. Arleigh Class Burke Destroyer. They are more the muscle of the Carrier battle group. So them holding more tomahawks as well as Our Tichondrea Class Missile crusiers which are the default model. They should be able to carry an absurd amount of cruise missiles. The default nuclear submarine is our new Virginia class sub more cargo space.

Adding on to what @Murderologist said, Ohio class subs, Ford Class carriers, Zumwalt class stealth destroyers, littoral assault ships, Queen Elizabeth class carriers (Britian), and Amphibious assualt ships that can carry troops across water. (there is already an amphibious assault ship mod on the steam workshop for Civ 5). The last thing that I can think of right now, is that in Civ 5, the same destroyer is both modern and WWII. I would like a difference between a WWII destroyer and a modern destroyer, if it isn't too much to ask.

i agree with zacwarrior

Do any of your guys use Naval Immersion mod? It adds a LOT of ships to the game, and is very well done. @ZAC, come on bro, the destroyer isn't the muscle of the battle group, it's the Sub Hunter... the cruiser would be the "muscle", however all the ships have cruise missles, except for the carrier, which has it's own muscle.

All great ideas.. I just need the art, there is quite a bit of sub art out there as well as older (post ironclad) ships too.

i use naval immersion it is pretty good

theres a patrol boat mod out there for gods and kings but it crashes games it says so the mod maker apparently abandoned it would be a cool litle ship to combat pirates and maybe carry a marine unit on

I gotta figure out how to do the unit cargo thing with code.. I know it gets complicated. I won't do it if it requires a modded DLL, as I don't want to rely on that.

good ideal the simpler the better
Murderologist 23 Mar, 2015 @ 7:39am
Crusiers are to finesse to be called muscle. They replaced battleships. Now those were muscle but I feel like if you have DESTROYER in your name as opposed to Crusier then ya know. Battleships were shore bombardment specialist and the cruiser is certainly not that but i feel the destroyer is better equipped to do that than the cruiser. Carriers dont count they have jets lol. But Zac you requested alot of units that dont exist. But sound good. Remember people, go to civfantics.com and see for yourself the models that are available. If its not there he aint putting it in.
Murderologist 23 Mar, 2015 @ 7:42am
The only thing. I would like to see designed like the F-35 was is the zumwalt class destoryer. A stealth ranged armed to the teeth destoyer unable to be attacked by planes but 150 weakness to submarines only if that sub gets the drop on it which it wont if its controlled by me.
ZACWarrior 23 Mar, 2015 @ 1:40pm
I thought some more while I was at school, and the only other two I could come up with were Oliver Hazard Perry class Frigates, and Iowa Class battleships. I only really know U.S. Navy.
Murderologist 23 Mar, 2015 @ 1:50pm
Nothing wrong with the US Navy :-). However the Frigates don't exist as a model but the battleship might Ill have to look.
