Used a metal shader for renders only. That's why they don't appear white.
These are left over from a project for HW2 years ago. I never put them in HW2 but did get them into HW1 for evaluation. Also have old HW1 corvette class (ion-vet, MG-vet, etc) that would need upgrading.
I thought maybe you might have use for them.

The MGF, MBF, ASF, all use anims. Pics show them fully deployed.

They're set up for stripe and team colors.

The field and multi-gun frigates as well as the carrier looks really awesome. I can see how they could work and fit in for the Kadeshi. As it is, they could use an additional frigate class and a carrier model. The Kushan Ion Frigate ( and Destroyer WIP in your album are also really sweet; they look fitting toward the theme of the Turanic Raiders salvaging ships from the field. If you adapted any two of them right (I'd suggested the Ion and Destroyer), the former could make a new type of frigate altogether and the later a new Turanic 'standard' frigate :)

Someone is obviously faaaaar better at the art stuff than I am. I would put the word 'faaaar' in like 60 font bold underlined. Steam does not seem to have that option yet.

I would love to use them in there if you are so willing!

In fact I would offer to throw you a pizza but I cannot actually throw a pizza that far. I have been strugging thru the modeling and art aspects of this but have managed only with a little luck and patience. And a few slushees.

For painful comparision here is the Turanic Destroyer not yet done. Not textured in any shape or form yet. It at least looks like I pictured it in my head for the most part.

Note I'm not saying I dislike the current standard frigate; I actually do. Just so happened to be the first thing in my mind at the time. Now that I really think about it, the 'Siege Cruiser' idea you had, Altroth? That WIP destroyer in the album could be the ticket with some tender loving. That is, if you want to extend the Turanics salvaging and retrofitting more Kushan technology. My two cents worth ^.^

That's a sweet looking shape for the Turanic Destroyer class; great work so far!

Edit: Found this. If you are looking for potential ideas on detail features that might compliment the existing shape, these concepts for a rejected Hiigaran or Taiidan Destroyer might help :)

Me? No; this mod is all Altroth. I'm just a Homeworld enthusiast who really loves this mod as much as supporting independant developers and modders. So I try to do what I can :)

Ahh yeah I rigged that up private for other reasons, mostly "I am sick of people demanding I trade with them" reasons. I will fork up a friend invite so we can chat later once I get home. And I have no 'team'. Just me. Go team me! Several people, like starwolf there, do seem to enjoy the mod and for that I am grateful.

The same people often find bugs and other issues which I simply cannot do alone.

I really like your mod and looking forward to the next patch. The design choices you made are fantastic.. Also I really like your new Command ship. It truly has something special amazing what you can do with few texture and model parts.. Half Taiidan Research Station half debris container yet lovely looking.

Make sure to check out the old Homeworld Universe hw2 classic mod. It featured 2 or 3 Turranic Raider factions all with unique and custom made ships. Surely a good source for additional inspiration. Or you could even ask for few of the models. That Somtaaw mod in the workshop is based upon HWU.

Might safe you time then you would just need to upgrade the ships with bump and spectaclar mapping etc..

Anyway stay on ball this mod and HW restored surely are the best out there at this moment for the remastered editon. :) Thank you.

I don't believe I have seen that mod before, coming from Homeworld 1 days. Those models look fantastic for its time; I daresay that Drone Frigate is very excellent. I'd definitely like to see something like it.

The pictures to those ships he posted are even in HWU check it out starwolf. That mod features over 20 races based on canon races or concept races like the Tobari etc.. For HW2 Classic though.

I remember letting HWU use the ships I kitbashed/built/modded. I've not played that mod but I gave him all my old HW1 ships. Not sure what he actually used. The pics above are only the ones that I thought were good enough to show you :D

There are doors on the drone frigate. They don't show because I removed them for the pic. Obviously it uses an anim. It has 24 drone hatches. This was the compliment for the HW1 drone frigate.

The new one they made for HWRM only uses 12 drones and is pretty much worthless :(

It wouldn't be hard to make a bump map and updated HW2 texture format for them. At least until I get around to upgrading them... I could slice off the nose of the new Tur array and add in the drone frig nose... maybe do some upgrading while I'm at it... that way it wouldn't be a total rebuild.

I haven't found a way around this yet. The new HodEd for HWRM exports meshes into single face entities. Every face is a separate part and nothing is welded. It's a real pain but you need to weld everything back together and then make your groups.

Ah yes, the universe mod. I remember that one now :)

I'd say for the most part, herby, updating the textures and little bits of detailing for extra flair would be stellar. Otherwise, its already as Turanic as it gets and Turanic stuff always makes me happy. All things considered, I believe a functional and sexy Drone Frigate is without a doubt what'd I like to see fit the current gap in Turanic fleets for capital ships.

Well, I started on the Tur drone frigate last night. Cut the nose off the new model and imported the nose off the old one. Now I need to piece it together and figure out the mad. I don't have a clue how to make the drones work so I'm going to need some help there. I figure I can get the mad working and let Altroth do the rest... If he wants to?

Turanic's new Destroyah will be in by mid wednesday. Texturing and tweaking the gun hardpoints are the only two sour notes left, and I may even finish those before the night is up. Outside of that, I only have a 25% done Turanic Resource Collector so yer damn straight I will use any models I get. Happily and gladly even.

I suppose the Beast Mothership is technically 10% done. That in I have a blob of shapes that I know what I want them to look like with enough screaming at.

The next big thing I outta consider if I want to do or not is to find someone with a lovely speaking voice to do the Turanic and Kadeshi advisors respectively. "Swarmer Complete!" and such. I may have to bribe some friends I know to do that.
