The Progenitors are strong, but are limited in their (anti)-strikecraft options and also have a rather slow start. If you allow them to build up and gain in force, however, you will notice they make quite a formidable foe. They are an endgame race, while the Kadeshi enjoy their biggest advantage at early game.
One thing you could try as a Kadeshi player is to get your swarmers up and strike early, focusing on strategic targets such as their resource collectors, research platforms and/or phase prisms.
I'm playing against AI on Hard. So i don't know if they got some cheats or more money, but they appears to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of guards very fast.
Phase Prisms may not strike you as carriers, but don't underestimate them. They are cheap, mobile, and can construct anything up to frigates. They are one of the reasons why I like to play the Progenitors as a production race myself.
Best of luck!
