The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Protest sign:No paying for mods

Does anyone agree with what valve are doing? I sort of do
I don't know. Sometimes mod developers deserve money for their work. If you don't want to pay then don't buy. However some things are a bit crazy eg $5 overppowered reskin swords but that's the modders choice. They only made the mod to get money. They wouldn't have made it otherwise. Does anyone else agree? :gordon:

I used to disagree vehemently. Now I kind of agree. Whole thing is a mess.

I don't mind paying as long as it isn't something like an armor set. I think we should pay for detailed map extentions( more places to explore, monsters to slay, and booty to be had :P) or deep, ammersive questlines that last a couple hours to even a couple days.

I'd pay £20 pounds for that no problem XD

Having to pay is not the real problem. If you want to know what the problem is read this: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/workshop/discussions/-1/611704730315096577/?appid=72850
No, i don't agree. They could have added a donation workshop. This would be so much better. Mods should always stay free, because modding is a hobby, and you don't make money out of your hobby. And neither can you turn your hobby into a job. The ones who did are game developers now, making brand new games with their own content. Not modding Skyrim and selling their work at the workshop for 5€.

And don't get me started how modding actually works. How it's from the community for the community, how people share animations and assets. When money starts to get involved, everything falls apart.

I would pay as well, but I would perfer as others state, a donation option. I hate how Valve is being greedy, but perhaps they will make an even better game with it. Who knows, right?
