How to Play
IMPORTANT: Earthbending interacts with other actions in a way that's a little less than intuitive. While your tooltips will tell you what actions are available and how to do them, you may need to re-learn one or two habits. Essentially, just keep in mind that Toph is capable of digging up those graves, or berry bushes, or anything else, at ANY TIME. When in doubt, the space bar is always safe and will never trigger an earthbending ability. Which also means that if you want to punch The BOULDER, you need to actually click on it, rather than using the space bar.

With that out of the way, we can move on to more general advice.

Toph doesn't need light to see, meaning you can explore at night or in caves with impunity. While there's no need to build a fire pit, you might want to consider getting a torch. Torches are very useful for burning down forests and other such incredibly important actions.

Furthermore, having travelled with Aang for a while, Toph is used to the harsh wilderness, as well as big, scary things. Toph has only minimal sanity loss, and doesn't lose extra sanity at night. As a result, you don't have to worry nearly as much about her sanity as you might have to worry about someone else's. That said, don't go crazy ignoring all that or else you'll... go crazy.

Rocks are your FRIENDS! In Toph's hands, these are ranged homing weapons that can deal twice as much damage as a boomerang. You'll want to destroy every boulder you come across just to get more of this precious, precious resource. Tremors in caves are the only renewable way to get more rocks, so you'll want to consider those for late-game. I find world-jumping to be the best way to get more rocks, but I get that sometimes you want to set up base in the world you're in. A mere 10 rocks can take down a Koalaphant, and no more than 3 rocks can kill a hound. That said, unlike rocks, boomerangs are reasonably renewable and are suitable for taking down most of the things you'll come across, so you might want to build a few of those.

Toph is not particularly well-equipped to survive in the winter (or summer, for you RoG players), so you'll need to go about the normal ways to regulating her temperature. That said, you can use rocks to take down beefalo from a distance, which will help you get meat and fur for the winter. Likewise, you can take down an entire iceberg in one or two hits.

But the most important piece of advice that I can give you is this: no matter what, it is absolutely crucial that you make CERTAIN that you absolutely, positively, whatever happens, Don't Starve.

Playing for an hour and a bit i figured out some of these.
Toph is an awesome character to play (as well as being my absolute favourite character from ATLA. I don't know why its the earthbenders.. maybe because they're so sassy?) as well as being a long ranged fighting ablitiy you can have from the get-go. I was petrified to not notice it had gone into night and I was waiting for charlie like "ohh ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥.."
Thanks for the nitbit tutorial since Toph is quite different. c:

A) No, she's not. I've been meaning to look into that, but I've been rather busy and haven't found the time. She's also not available for Shipwrecked, though for a slightly different set of reasons.
