Heroes Guideline and Advanced Tactics
HOW TO PLAY THEM ?

Each hero has his own gameplay. here is a deeper guideline to let you understand the mechanics behind each one of them and how to play them as best as you can. It is of course not precisely the way you should work and you can make your own strategy, but it is a good quickstarter if you want to fully appreciate the game as it was made.

HP = Hitpoints
ATK = Attack
HCK = Hack armor
PRC = Pierce armor
SPD = Speed

FIGHTERS

The Barbarian

Strongly levels in : HP / ATK / PRC
Randomly levels in : HCK / SPD
Slowly levels in : #
Ability : Activate Berserk to increase his damage
Role : Killer
Difficulty : Moderately easy

Tactic : The barbarian is easy to play as it is a good balanced tank. As long as you don't run toward death, you can have a interesting game. The first thing you would think to do is to increase his strength to get more attack point. But it is a best strategy to pick life points first so you will be able to take more damage. Once your ability is unlocked, wait for being near a huge amount of units and use it. It will make you unstoppable for a short time.

The Knight

Strongly levels in : ATK / SPD
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : HP / HCK / PRC
Ability : The only fighter with a heal spell
Role : Hit and run
Difficulty : Watch out for every move

Tactic : Here we have a complicated unit. When most of people think it is a mounted warrior, the role of the knight isn't to go forward and just fight as a tank. He has a hit and run strategy. He goes first on the battlefield to examinate the opponents forces then go back while they all follow him and run around his teamates while avoiding fight. Once every hero has an enemy, he can finally get into the fight. He can also summon some mercenaries and can ask for a divine intervention (I'll let you discover that :P)

The Rogue

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : ATCK / HP / HCK / PRC / SPD
Slowly levels in : #
Ability : Can catch money and calls mercenary
Role : Whatever you give him
Difficulty : Really easy

Tactic : Probably the most easier and playable character of Children of Memories for beginners to take, the Rogue is really a good unit. Because of the way his skills evolve, you can turn it onto whatever you want. Tank, quick guy, killer, explorer, the smartest thing to do is using your gold ability to get extra bonus of gold then spend it on the shops. Use his skills leveling to unlock more HP, SPD or Bravey which can never be bought in shops.

The Brute

Strongly levels in : HP / ATK / HCK / PRC
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : SPD
Ability : Can almost never die
Role : Tank
Difficulty : Easy as hell

Tactic : I present you the most strongest unit of the game but also the most easiest character to pick. Everyone makes the mistake of taking attack at first upgrades while you should really consider improving his speed, life points or armor. Let your friends getting the attack upgrades, the Brute is only here to take the damage while others are attacking. He already has tons of attack since he starts with 15 attack damage. But... whatever, you are the brute, do as well as you're pleased to do.

(!) Note : The Brute can sometimes be... really stupid. Especially in the trees when he hasn't much room to move. Click precisely where you want to lead him or else, he will go the other way behind. Yeah this is... but, you know, it's a brute

THE FURTIVES

The Archer

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : HP / ATK / HCK / PRC / SPD
Ability : Can shot 2 more arrows (x3 attack)
Role : Support
Difficulty : May be complicated

Tactic : The archer is, no doubt, a strange unit. While he is weak in every stats, he can easily become one of the most strongest unit of the team. But first you need to understand how he works. As long as you stay back, you have no problem playing with him. Once you are alone and on the battlefront, he can be easily killed. Thus, the archer shall never be placed on the front of the battlefield, and must be constantly shooting at the threatening enemies. Accuracy and Bravery are his main skills and he is good at it.

The Thief

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : HP / ATK / HCK / PRC / SPD
Slowly levels in : #
Ability : Steal the enemies
Role : Finance
Difficulty : Random

Tactic : The best part of having a thief in your guild is that he can steal gold from your enemies. He also get more gold than the Rogue when using this. So while fighting a load amount of enemies, if he uses his spell and get clother, he steals more gold from dead corps or fighting guys. Plus, it is a good fighter and can, on the other hand, turns out to be a really good killer in some fights. There is nothing special to say about this class since, as the rogue, he is really easy to play.

The Assassin

Strongly levels in : HCK / PRC
Randomly levels in : HP / SPD
Slowly levels in : ATK
Ability : Can be invisible, stab his oponents and teleports himself
Role : Boss killer
Difficulty : Easy

Tactic : The assassin is probably a very entertaining hero. Easy to play, but can be a bit slow so you need to pay attention to one thing : do not get surrounded and bear in mind that you are really, really bad at fighting on the front. When you use your invisibility, the enemies can't attack you while you can easily stab them (+50 attack). Watch out, because you don't know when you go back to visible again, and you could just be in the middle of a huge army. What is really interesting in this unit is that if you manage to survive, you can be really deadly.

The Pilgrim

Strongly levels in : HP / HCK / PRC / SPD
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : ATK
Ability : Poison, traps, and can summon healing spring
Role : Helpmate
Difficulty : Has to use his powers wisely

Tactic : The pilgrim is one of the fastest unit of the game (right before the Knight). What you need to know as a Pilgrim is that your spells should be used wisely. His traps are spider eggs that will spawn on the ground. Don't use it on the battlefield while you fight but put them somewhere on a road and lure the human enemies to it. If you don't the eggs can be attacked and the traps are destroyed. On the other side, if you use the healing spring near a bunch of enemies, they will take it from you and get healed.

MAGUS

The Sorcerer

Strongly levels in : ATK
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : HP / HCK / PRC / SPD
Ability : Summons loads of creatures
Role : Healer
Difficulty : Complicated

Tactic : First of all, bear in mind that he is the only unit with the healer to have an extra projectile when taking Accuracy skill. If you can understand what this means, you almost get how he can be really strong. But, he can easily get stuck in a critical situation and die for not paying attention on what you do. As a sorcerer, your goal isn't to get the first kills but to wait for getting nearby a bunch of enemies then use one of your three spells. The first one makes carnivora which are good against humans. the second is a special necromancer spell. And the last is the summoning of a mighty beast.

The Healer

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : #
Slowly levels in : HP / ATK / HCK / PRC / SPD
Ability : Heals and chaos the enemies
Role : Healer
Difficulty : Hard !

Tactic : Pillar of the team, most hardly playable character, but really important, this is the healer. He has +1 projectile everytime he takes Accuracy but has low attack stats and can't last long in a fight. To play this, you will need skills and have to watch over your companions all the time. Instant 1/3 HP heal works only once the cooldown is over (which means you can NOT spam it). When you use your servant, if you play fine, you can be unkillable since the servant instant heals you. Healer has also the best bonus against myth units.

(!) Carreful ! You can't directly heal your friends while they are fighting. You must ask them to fall back and follow you in a safe area, where they will have to stand ground and let you heal them. This flaw in the game is due to the AoM mechanics and I'm sorry I can't do anything with it.

The Witchhunter

Strongly levels in : HP / SPD
Randomly levels in : HCK / PRC
Slowly levels in : ATK
Ability : Uses nature power to fight the evil forces
Role : Support and helper
Difficulty : Fine

Tactic : He runs fast, fight from distant, has a good resistance against damage, the witchhunter is a good hero for beginners but will remain with a slow level of attack during the whole game. His strength lays on his ability to cast nature forces. He can summons a bush that will randomly walk and kill enemies nearby, or invoke a forest tree to convert it onto centaurs. Be sure to walk right beside the trees to ensure you make them turn onto centaurs, or else it won't work. He also has the ability to freeze the opponents, which can be really usefull at some cases.

The Spellsword

Strongly levels in : ATK / HCK / SPD
Randomly levels in : PRC
Slowly levels in : HP
Ability : Calls for mercenaries help, has a healing spell and stamina
Role : Magic fighter
Difficulty : Moderately easy

Tactic : Bored of figthing but not having spells ? The spellsword is your best option. It's easy to play with him but know it requires some special precautions. The spellsword can be a good fighter, but he easily dies when facing multiple enemies. The best way to play him is to run around the fight and find for the weaker unit to attack then kill him. The ragnarok gives him a boost of +10 attack which is pretty nice if you want to improve his slow life points but wants to keep a good attack.

BUIDLERS

The Architect

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : HCK / SPD
Slowly levels in : HP / ATK / PRC
Ability : Builds towers and make mechanical boar beast
Role : Builds safe bases
Difficulty : Has to build all the day

Tactic : The architect must build towers all over the battlefield to fully increase the importance of his role in the group. Be careful, because every tower costs some gold and you have to strategically build them so you can spare some gold for your hero upgrades. Bear in mind that the more you take Engineering skills to improve your towers, the more they will be expansive. Your hero can also be a good fighter once you improved his attack but keep him way from the fight sometimes. Your towers can be usefull if your teamates needs a shelter to survive a hord, so don't destroy them all the time.

The Savant

Strongly levels in : #
Randomly levels in : HP / ATK / HCK / PRC / SPD
Slowly levels in : #
Ability : Seek and destroy
Role : Mad guy
Difficulty : Fun and easy

Tactic : Probably someone who will really make your game different and funnier. The goal of this character isn't really to get kills or follow the storyline but to own all the robots in the world. Robots are scattered all over the map and you can convert them by walking nearby. The more robot you have, the stronger you get. Plus, robots can repair each others when they die. However, the robots he summons with his spells are pale copy and they will get destroyed at some time and never come back. You better recognize them quickly in the battlefield :P

The Expert

Strongly levels in : HCK
Randomly levels in : HP / ATK / PRC
Slowly levels in : SPD
Ability : Builds moving tower
Role : Building helper
Difficulty : Handy

Tactic : As does the Architect do, the experts builds towers. What's new here is that the towers can move on the land and fire light. The moving towers hasn't really got good life and attack, but it is better to have them following you in case you need a shelter to survive or want to hide. The more stronger your tower get, the more expensive it becomes. You should remember that it is better to upgrade your hero. he can also casts a light firing crocodile.

The Engineer

Strongly levels in : HCK
Randomly levels in : HP / ATK / PRC / SPD
Slowly levels in : #
Ability : Controls siege weapons
Role : Artilleryman
Difficulty : Easy but slow

Tactic : You will have to convert the siege weapons all over the map to make them yours. For this simply, walk nearby an abandoned siege weapon (also works on enemy ones), then it will turn to your side. The siege weapons are his babies and when it's lost, it's gone forever ! What is interesting with this hero is that he can sometimes turns himself into a wearable ballista. The more he uses the ballista, the stronger and faster it gets, until it becomes something really interesting to play while on higher levels. If you are too slow, don't hesitate to take a few athletics upgrades.
