How to use another resource to buy ?

Hello , sorry if I do not speak English very well because I 'm French.
I would use another resource as Gold Pearl to buy.
It's possible ?
How should I do it ?

if you make your own mod and create and item with the name gold pearl the shops wouldn't know the difference
