Energy Crisis (Official Release)
Energy Crisis - Review by Endless
★★★★ 4/5: Extremely well done and good to look at

Energy Crisis is a complete campaign set around a small village in the mountains, near a nuclear power plant. A rather simple but well realized theme that evokes a new, less seen aspect of the zombie apocalypse. The urban hulls are one of the most common visual themes to find, but they usually focus on big and famous cities. In this case, there is some palpable charisma in a small town near a nuclear power plant.

The map design is very solid and fascinating. It doesn't go beyond detail and it's not quite crazy either, but the town, the interiors, the roads, the nuclear plant, etc, all look epic, in a good and entertaining way. The night setting gives a unique touch to the campaign.

The gameplay is quite solid and very enjoyable, particularly the last maps. The use of hordes is effective, maintaining an adjustable and very appreciable balance that offers fun and challenge without sacrificing gameplay. Excellent.

The finale in particular manages to be unique without going crazy. The map is a sort of open pit mine, and the objective is simple: turn on a generator, wait for the door to open, and escape in the helicopter. But the execution is brilliant. Definitely a great finale.

This campaign is solid in almost every aspect, or well, every aspect. Quite entertaining and of good length. I have no major complaints. It's great.
