Energy Crisis is another solid and highly enjoyable Custom Map. My friends described it as ‘starting out similar to Dark Carnival, and then becoming a bit like an extended version of Crash Course’, which I think is fairly accurate.

It was a relatively easy campaign overall, especially since you could get any gun in the game from a massive armoury fairly early on, at the start of Chapter 2.

The two most memorable and most difficult parts of this campaign were its two Hard Gauntlets. The first takes places in a fake Safe Room in the power station itself, and features a surprise Tank near the end of it, as the Commons and Specials continue to spawn. However, this Hard Gauntlet + Tank was made much more manageable due to the area just before it massively loading you up with ammo, tons of bombs of every type, and Pills/Adrenaline; thus giving you more than enough firepower to defend, kill the Tank, and get through the Hard Gauntlet.

The second Hard Gauntlet takes place later in the power station, when you have to activate an alarm and then climb over a train. This Hard Gauntlet involves a long run to the Safe Room as an endless amount of Commons constantly spawns ahead of you. Be sure to have Snipers and save a couple of Bile Bombs for this Hard Gauntlet, and be sure to use the Bile well; or else be ready for some trouble here.

The rest of the map was pretty generous with supplies overall, although there were a couple of times in the power station when the ammo pickups mid-map felt sparse.

The Finale of Energy Crisis was a pretty easy Defend-Find A Crank-Start A Generator- Tank-Defend-Pull A Crank-Flip A Switch-Easy Gauntlet. The Finale is easy due to being set in a large quarry; where the Commons, Specials, and Tanks spawn far away on the sides of the quarry, and then gradually drop down to reach you.
