German Weapon Pack
I am close to finish my German weapons pack. This will include HK G3 (assault/battle rifle), HK MP5 (submachine gun) and MG3 (machinegun). The weapons should be more different than the other equivalents available for now.

HK G3 (AX):
- damage: 35 (same as HK G3SG/1 already available and 5 more than for standard assault rifle)
- mitigation: 10 (see above)
- range: 20 (same as for usual assault rifle)
- weight: 7 (1 more than for a standard assault rifle)

- fire modes:
a) single shot fire modes same as for assault rifle
b) burst fire is less accurate but has higher suppression value

HK MP5 (AX):
- damage: 25 (5 less than a standard pistol)
- range: 10 (same as for a pistol)
- weight: 4
(It is a two handed weapon)

- fire modes:
a) single shot ap="28" accuracy="45"
b) single shot ap="40" accuracy="80"
c) burst fire ap="60" accuracy="45" shotCount="6" alternatively ap="45" accuracy="45" shotCount="3"

MG3:
- weight: 8 (1 more than for standard machinegun)
(other stats remain equal)

- fire modes:
burst fire ap="60" accuracy="35" shotCount="10" (it needs 20 ap less than standard machine gun due to the higher fire rate of MG3; the other option is to increase the shotCount by 5 shots)

a mp5 is not a weapon which can be used single handed, i think it would be more appropriate to use as a weapon for assault class.

Yes this mp5 is currently a two handed weapon. It is the HK MP5A2 variant.

burst fire mode with 6 shots turned out to be too overpowered --> tried the second burst fire mode option and it seems to work better

Yes, I'll add it with an update later. The other three behave well. HK G3 is really deadly. HK MP5 is nice at close close/medium range. Maybe MG3 is slightly overpowered because you have more TUs free to move in place or to move after you shot (I am thinking about increasing TU costs to 65 or maybe 70), otherwise everyone will always prefere this one.

The images look neat now - having nice consistent look, sounds are suitable, too. It wasn't easy to find one for MG3. The only thing I have to do, is to create an image for MP5 magazine and add description texts to string.xml. I am going to share the mod then. Everything else can be added/changed with further updates.

I did a little tweak of my own on the MP5 because I wanted an SMG that could fire multiple levels of burst.

Damage=20 (even lower than before) Pellets=3
Single shot sound= GW Submachine Gun Burst
Clipsize 9 (each shot is 3 bullets, so I have it holding 27 bullets in a clip)
Snap shot= 25ap 45acc
Normal= 35ap 55acc
Aimed= 45ap 75acc
Burst= 45ap 45acc 3shots (9bullets) Maybe for balancing this should have even lower accuracy. Otherwise that's 45 accuracy for 180 damage.

My version can shoot a quick burst, or a longer spray. The burst sound is perfect for the three pellet single shot, but for lack of a nine shot sound, I just use the same for both single and burst modes.

My changes were based on my experience with FPS games. SMGs are often lower damage, but shoot so many bullets all at once and quickly drain the clip. Also, longer bursts tend to be devastating at close range, but difficult to control.

Thanks so much for giving me an smg for this game! I'm loving this gun! My new squad layout is nearly half assault carrying the MP5.

Now I need to make the plasma carbine (p90?) into an smg too. :)

interesting experiments with pellets, Hasegawa Fish. Our current version of mp5 is only able to fire in burst mode. If not moving it is able to fire 3 bursts of three rounds comparable to a shotgun. This changes will be included in the coming update.

Hi!

I can tell you put a lot of effort into this! I'm intrigued by the German guns and I'd like to try them out!

My concern is as follows: I already have the "nifty SMGs" mod, which I love, and which comes with the MP5 as the standard ballistic shotgun. I'm afraid that downloading this mod might screw up my game with two different MP5 models in it.

Is there a way to get this mod that would only add the G3 and MG3?

Perhaps it's possible also to download the whole mod and edit your MP5 out of the file, but I'm not sure how to do that . . . I'm really not a modder.
