Bus Lanes - After Dark vs TAM
Obviously we all know that the After Dark expansion added roads with bus and cycle lanes, and whilst they visually look very similar to their predecessors from Traffic++, they behave quite differently, or at least did in the T++ version. The AD bus lanes allow any vehicle to drive in them if they are making a turn or parking at or before the next node, and cannot be selected by the lane editor tool.

What is the long term plan regarding this? Are the TAM bus lanes going to just become a quasi-replacement for the AD counterparts? Or are there plans to require AD and make use of the cycle and bus/taxi lanes from that. A common request seems to be roads with bus and cycle lanes together, but at the same time it would be a shame to make this essential mod unavailable to many players.

The bus lanes (both vanilla and TAM) will be selectable for vehicle/speed restrictions in Beta 2 or 3. There is also a feature in the upcoming code update (Beta 2 or 3) that encourages buses to use bus lanes and discourages other vehicles from using them (unless absolutely essential - eg. only route to destination).

The TAM bus roads will be available regardless of whether the user has the AD paid DLC or not; buses were always part of the base game and their AIs, assets, etc, are available to all users.

As for bicycles, I assume that will require AD paid DLC as the AIs, assets, etc. aren't available in the base game (contrast to buses and their AIs that have always been available in the base game).

For roads with both bus and bike lanes, that poses some challenges - the bus would likely have to cross over the bike lane, and the indented bus stops would probably turn green rather than red. So I think we'll need more time to ponder how to achieve a working solution, and even then it might require the paid DLC.

Note: We also plan on adding bicycles to the vehicle restrictions menu, the icons are done, but it will need some additional testing. Not sure whether that will be part of TAM v1 releae or have to wait until a later version.

While we were working on getting icons for the restrictions menu, we noticed this.... http://imgur.com/a/mlOK3

Would it be possible to have the TAM bus lanes use the same "bus/taxi" legend and colour as the AD ones to make things more consistent? As for the cycle lanes making bus stop laybys have the green texture, the vanilla AD roads with cycle lanes do exactly that, so it's not the end of the world.

It's unlikely that we'll be able to achieve that for TAM v1. There are also some issues and grey areas when it comes to the boundary between paid DLC and base game, including things like using textures and markings from the paid DLC in a mod that is also available to people without the paid DLC.
