Hide address on widget
Request by a player, for an adventure.

Adding this on your GameUserSettings.ini will hide the gate address in the widget :

[Stargate]
HideAddress=True

When you place a new stargate, the address will be available for 1 minute, after that, it will be hidden.

If you hide the address, how do you go about finding it in game?

Will this hide the "available adresses" in the menu at public gates?

In "normal modes" public gate addresses will always shows, you dont understand public ?
If you dont want them to show themselves, dont use public gates. I dont see what problem you have

thx for the fast answer. this was no attack on your mod, i love it! to explain: i will add a SG network on my server. this gates should be useable for all and should run without zpm, so i wanna use "half" public gates. but to make it not that easy it would be nice if the adresses of other gates do not show up in the menu, so they have to find a new gate on the island and remember the adresse for the gate. u know what i mean? i really love this mod cause i love stargate ^^ i did not want to offend you ;) (sry for the bad english :P)

Wasnt offended, dont worry, just didnt understood what you wanted. If you want to hide all addresses on history & address book, then you want the thing from this thread. When you will build a new gate, the address will be shown on the console for 1 minute, then it will dissapear. You can put a Sign next to the gate to give the address to your users, but it will do this for all stargates.

First, love the mod, amazing work!

I am planning on doing the same thing that qwaithir is doing and placing a bunch of gates around the map for people to use and discover. I would like to use the public gates since they dont require a zpm and can be placed directly on the ground but I dont want the address shown in the available address list. I did place the

[Stargate]
HideAddress=True

in the GameUserSettings.ini but it only removed the gate address shown at the individual startgate itself and not the available address list.

I dont mind if the address at the gate itself is shown, but is there a seperate command to just hide the available address list?

I dont remember, when u set this var to true, u dont see the address in top middle of the widget, but u still see others public gates on the address book (right of the widget) ?

Correct, when it's set to true the address at the top shows for that one minute but then goes away.

The list of gates, public and private, still show in the address book though.

Its ok if i hide the right pannel ?
thing451 8 Mar, 2016 @ 1:37pm
Yes, that would be fine as well. Anything that removes, covers, or disables that area would be great!

on the next update :)

I do love this feature (aswell as the mod of course :steamhappy: ) and have enabled it on my server, signposting some gates with addresses and others only being obtained by purchasing notes with addresses.

I was wondering though if it would be possible to have a config option to have the gate history enabled, but leave the rest hidden? i.e.

HideHistory=False

It would also be great to be able to manually populate the bookmark list on the right, but appreciate that it is probably unfeasable to do that.

Having the history appear on the left only would enable people to return to a gate easily and get back to their private gates easier without making the whole process too easy.

(Although I personally don't need it, might be nice to have a boolean for the hiding of the gate address at the top aswell? Give people some more choice when configuring their servers).
