World Expansion Project: Abandoned Cities
Hey folks!

Thought I'd give you a little sneak peek into a proof of concept for the next WEP pack I'm beginning work on, WEP: Abandoned Cities.

This is a proof of concept to see if it's worthwhile, so don't look too deeply into how pristine everything still looks!

Abandoned Cities are a new environment type - cities that were abandoned by the ADVENT administration for one reason or another, either during construction or subsequently.

Often, the resistance have established holdings in these abandoned cities, so expect to defend plenty of relays and escort VIPs from raided safehouses!

Reminds me of Terraphoenix's abandon cities levels. Fun to bring rocket launchers and finish off decrepit buildings back then.

This looks awesome, what a cool idea! Any chance for abandoned high rise buildings? Like the ones you can see in some base landing backgrounds. Maybe with a connecting bridge or something like that.
This looks very cool. I really like the idea of abandoned cities being used by the resistance, and there are a couple of in-game rumors that imply stuff like that.

Looks cool. Why not just use assets from XCOM: EU, add some foliage and decay to them and use them? I'd love to fight in delapidated diners, destroyed warehouses and railyards.

@IratePirate - As far as I'm aware, XCOM 2 uses a PBR renderer and assets, whereas EU does not, meaning the assets would need to be largely retextured.

I may be repeating things people have said before but I feel like adding in new plots and parcels that might have more of a focus on verticality could be cool. more 2/3/4 story buildings would be awesome to muck around with b/c of the random spawning and the fact that people running up and down between the various roofs and stories could really ♥♥♥♥ with your turn planning. 'scuse the language.

Is there a plan to continue this mod now that they announced Abandoned Cities are coming in the Chosen DLC?
