Ahhh, that would be giving away over 500 hours of work. Hehe. Sorry, if I shutdown the server I would share but thats to much work to hand out right now. It's a thing we are doing to place NPCs where we want and how many, etc. Say for example we want Bush People (plan on adding this) I would just put the ones in we want and spears in the Jungle, flame thrower in the Lava, etc. Lots of work but you welcome to come check it out :) We have Thieves Island and Tunguska on it with CrossARK. We will be adding more NPCs soon. Right now Extinction was over 100 dinos alone to add custom, but I put in Small Dragons, Nightmare Pegesus and working on Monster Hunter and a few others.

Everyone zone is OVERWRITE with the Custom Spawnner in Game.ini.

If you would like to help out on our servers and community we are looking for people to help. I will have 4 servers up for ARK by the end of the month (the current 2, and 2 with The Center/Island without Extinction for those who like the base game w/ extras).

We still have tons of room. Discord is a great place to be part of everything :)

I looked over your server and was a bit interested the only thing is I am thoroughly addicted to the Monster Hunter mod as I am a long time fan. I basically have everything you have plus that mod. I may check it out though.

So totally glossed over the fact that you mentioned MH. So yeah as soon as you have it implemented let me know I'd be happy to join.

We added some of the Monster Hunter dinos in today and the T-Rex and Velo from Jurassic ARK Dinos mod. We will be adding NPCs to certain areas if they are worth using. We wont add worthless dinos just because they look good but do nothing. Monster Hunter has made all his have alot of features and thats cool. I hope to see more like this. The Nightmare Pegasus is also in game now. Come check us out.

If you tried connecting today we had an outage and its all fixed now. We aren't down much unless its an ARK update or Mod which auto updates every hour. So we dont have to touch the servers for updates :)

Im sorry but I just dont understand the mentality of some server operators who keep thier stuff a secret. Its Arma all over again.
Do you really think that sharing what you know and actually helping out fellow operators is going to have a negative affect on you at all?
Are you really that selfish and paranoid that you think sharing your efforts with others will result in them STEALING your players or reducing any possible returns you may get through donations or your store?

You do realise how many players there are right? How each and every one of them has different wants and needs and lets not forget they are spread all over the world.

The amount of servers you can run is always limited to how much you can afford to pay and while there is always a chance you wipe your tush with $100 bills, I doubt you can afford to run enough servers for everyone.
What ever the amount of servers is that your running, they can only hold a limited amount of people, so regardless, everyone aint gonna fit. Period.
Which means most people cant get on even if they wanted too.

Space aside, the needs and wants of players means that even just 1 mod on your server or not on your server is enough to make them look elsewhere.
Having your rates set too high or too low, too many dinos or not enough, night time being too long or too short, PVE or PVP or even hunger dropping to fast or too slow are all reasons some people will just simply refuse to play on your server.

Lets not forget the primary player base you have, which are the regular, long term players who are always on the server and ultimately have the welfare of the server in thier hands can at any time do or say something to cause a player or even group of players to leave.

Just having a STORE available for players to purchase items or perks can cause issues. While completely understandable to have, the debatable, but resulting effect on your server, to be completely honest, wont be good and will deter MOST players from your servers.
No one likes the possibility of a rich kid using daddies endless money to gain an advantage on the server that can and most likely will affect thier hard earned time and effort.

Lastly and most importantly.
It doesn't matter how great your server is, it doesn't matter how much time or money you have invested into it/them. Be the best admin/operator known to man. You could have 100 servers catering to every players desire. Offering the best store value that money can buy.
All of it is irrelivent because generally when people are looking for servers, they first look at ping, then players, then server details.
Sure some might look at player count first but PING is always going to be the defining factor in the end and unless you can provide low pings to everyone EVERYWHERE, countless players wont ever log on to enjoy your custom spawn zones or any of your hard work.

Either by choice or due to technical reasons all these players have to go somewhere and like it or not, they will and already have even with your secrets locked away.
NOTHING will change that.
So with that in mind do you still really think that sharing your efforts with others and helping out fellow operators will hurt you in any way? Surely Not.
Is it really to much to ask that you help out or fellow man with something that is clearly needed.
Would it hurt you so bad to help countless people improve thier servers and in turn provided countless more players a better experience or would that really keep you awake at night?

Obviously corrected spawn settings are needed for EXT and THIEVES to work better so that players get the most enjoyment. Obviously you realise that most operators cant figure it out themselves, or dont have the time so by keeping it a secret you feel you can offer something that no one else has and in turn get more players and more glory for yourself.
So really this means you are willingly preventting other server operators from delivering what you clearly beleive is a better experience and by doing so, your willingly denying the rest and not to mention majority of people wanting to play ext on thieves, the best experience possible.

By keeping things to yourself and not sharing you are only doing more harm then good to the ark community overall.
If server operators and gaming communities actually worked together instead of treating each other like a possible threat there would be fine tuned and well oiled servers for everyone, everwhere, all the time.
With no worry of stealing players or being better then everyone else. Just focussing on making sure everyone has a server to play on and those operating the servers can do so as efficiently and effectively as possible.

You have nothing to loose and EVERYTHING to gain when helping others.

Let me make this simple. The idea of running a dedicated server is so you can customize it to make it unique and draw in players because of your creative configs.

Would you spend 500 hours figuring out a recipe that brings in people to a restaurant that people come in for? This is life works.

You have access to all the same mods and stuff we do. Putting 500 hours into a config file is make a nice unique server is the purpose of making it. That simple. Its not hard to do just takes "time" and "creativity".

I think thats quite clear and you sound like you need to go back to Arma 3 which is totally different using scripts and code. This is simple entries in your .ini file with everything out there for you to do it yourself.

So no we arent giving our setup out. You can see all the mods we use and do that yourself or just run it as its setup. Make your own server and enjoy the custom options and have some fun being creative.

Oh and there are 19k+ servers out there. All have the same access to the mods and config options.

You are misguided. Lol. Hopefully you understand we arent hiding nothing you cant do and its easy but time consuming.

Please do yourself and favor and dont attempt to speak for anyone else let alone everyone.

Lets see...
I have been running servers for a number of years now.
From an Arma 2 Server at my house, then to rented rust servers along with several others.
To now with tailored Dedi Boxes at a rough cost of $300 per month.
Every spare minute I have is spent monitoring and maintaining these servers.
Lets not forget the cost of hosting a website and a ts3 server, and managing those also.
I am frequently purchasing other game titles and sharing them out to other members of my community who might be less fortunate.
Not to mention purchasing Expansions like Scorched Earth for Ark Modders who have kindly given their time and experience to bring us some great mods. Just to say thanks to them.
Oh and to be honest I couldn't imagine the amount of money I have donated to modders, just to give somthing back and show support so they hopefully keep doing what they are doing.
And guess what!!! I do all this for nothing and have done right from the start.
Sure players can donate if they want, but its not required or needed.
Not only do I provide these services and expect nothing in return. I even take the time to help others with thier issues and frequently give advice to people running other servers.

So to answer your question, yeah I suppose I would put 500 hours into something just to give it away. That and much more, because I dont do this for glory, or pride, or money. I do it because I enjoy it. I do it because I want to help people and give people something without expecting anything in return. To do it for any other reason is just wrong and an insult to the very meaning of COMMUNITY.

Lets get one last thing straight, I wasn't asking you to give me your secrets. You had already made it clear enough that your not the type to share.
I simply asked why you choose to keep things a secret as its simply something I still cant understand.
You see, I choose to have faith in others. For many years I have been involved with several great, like minded people and communites, all willing to share and help others, however I have also met many people, not unlike youself, who were not so open minded or willing to share.
I realised though that most of them were like that because they were missinformed or had one bad experience and thought everyone was the same, or they just assumed thats how everyone else was, etc.
After some time, and a little encouragement, most of them realised its much better and more enjoyable to be part of something or at least choose to help others instead of keeping everything to themselves. Of course there were some who wouldn't change but thats their choice.
So when I read your post I went out on a limb to explain the many different reasons why even if you did share your secrets, it wouldnt negatively affect you but instead could potentially help many other people, who might then go on to help even more people. It could even come back to you and help you in the end.
I did this for one reason and one reason only.
Saying and doing nothing results in nothing.

Your right, I will figure it out by myself. I am already well on my way. Its not difficult once you get the hang of it. It just takes some time. I have access to all the same things you do.
It will be a nice addition to my own unique servers.
However when I'm finshed editing and happy with everything.
I'll be sure to let others know and share my efforts with them so that they too can add it to thier own unique servers.

Look who the OP is. Me. Not everyone. I run 4 of 20k servers in the ARK world who enjoys hosting them for free and dont even play the game much. I love my community and I do it for THEM to enjoy and Ive met sone great people.

Dont give me your BS. People setup their own servers the way they want and make it private, public, modded, chocolate, vanilla....Whatever. This is why it exists.

Im sorry your butt hurt with your tiny mind but this is what we do. Other servers do it. My server has 5 Admins that all worked on the servers. Your posts on here are so stupid because you dont even understand it. Read it again, try setting up a server, try to be creative and put on the mods you like, play around with the INI if you can.

Lol sorry Double has been nothing but giving when it comes to the community that has floated their way to here on the ark servers i play on every one of them i also play on Pugatar and Lks servers i have close to or am at 4k hours most of those on Doublees Servers because in discord we have a voting system on everything from maps to mods to rates.

our conan server was to low of a rate we voted to increase it was done Sephora Derek spent hours upon hours placing spawns for tungaska the volcano thieves island they have jobs too

so dont come at Double because he wont share his setup with you hes being a great guy by showing you th emod pack and encouraging you to test stuff yourself learn the ropes although you cant see it. Im sure your ARMA and ark servers are great but dont ♥♥♥♥ on Double because most of the servers wont give you their ini config unless they are modders.

I think, he wasn't asking for a hand-out. He wants to know how you went about replacing those spawns with custom spawns.

If anything, you could just give an example of how to discovered the naming convention for the spawns, in order to replace them.

I would be very interested in this process as well, as there are some spawns I would like to 'thin out'.
