I have checked several places in the ocean and no luck. Iam at map coordnates long= 76 latt= 53. I know it was in the oceans on the default maps. Iam getting tired of looking.

Theres oil on land. On the map, at about 50 (up/down) 75 (left/right). Theres a small island with a dark spot in the middle ( thats a floating island) under that floating island on the ground you can see what looks like an arena of sorts & a huge barrel looking thing thats on fire, the oil is right below it along with pearls. Only oil i have found on land so far.

Pretty much best source of oil are whales, just kill them :)

I found a decent spot with pearls and oil at around lat 60 lon 60. There´s a stone overhang out in the water. At the base of the overhang close to shore there are pearls and oil.

i cannot found Oil on the koordinates.. can anybody help me?

Maybe my map is wrong, it should be 60/60. But look at my first picture above. That´s on the southeast tip of the main island. You can see some landmarks, the redwood in the far background and the mountain with the peaceful floating island above it to the right. Should be easy to find.
You can see my shark in the water, swim down there and you´ll find oil and pearl.

Try coordinates latitide 54 longitude 87. look at below picture. The oil is in the middle and on out side of structure in picture

Are there no other sources of oil other than deep in the water or way out in the uncharted reaches of the ocean? Especially since they killed flying and added a whale that destroys rafts, rather dangerous to get oil.

I am not for sure. The place in the pic i postrd has all the oil i need. If you use mods
you can fast travel easy enough. I use the bird in the pic LOL.
