If I(or someone else) can give you hair models, can you put them into the mod? I'm not doing this myself for several reasons:
1. i dont know how to
2. while i am learning, i want to make a voice mod first
3. im a little busy here with the equivilant of a final exam coming up
4. also im a little lazy

You work with maya, so you need the files to be OBJ or FBX, right? i can get you some. If you remember me asking about the model rips in this month's hair contest thread, yes, i finally figured out how to do it. took f*cking forever, but the process is surprisingly simple.
