Changing body parts and layers / compatability with bionic arms
I want to clarify that I am not a modder, at best I'm a tinkerer.
The base mod is configured so that the toolbelt is actually equipped on your pawns' Hands. If the pawn has bionic arms it won't be able to equip the toolbelt.

So here are some basic instruction on how to change the layer and body part that the toolbelt is equipped to:
  • Steam workshop files are located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\
  • When you go there you have to find the folder used for rimworld.
  • When you get into Rimworld’s folder, find the correct folder for Right Tools For The Job.
  • You can simply search for RTFTJ and you should find it soon enough.
  • I’m not sure how steam creates folders but if you’re on Windows you can try to copy this path, this is where it was located in my computer:
    C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100\672718223
  • When you find the correct folder, just go into Defs, then ThingDefs and open up RTFTJ-Tools.xml with a text editor and scroll down until you find “<ThingDef ParentName=”ApparelBase”>”
  • Underneath that should be a name in between <defName>.
  • One of them is called RTFJ_Toolbelt and the other RTFTJ_ToolbeltAdv
  • There are two parameters here you need to redefine, <bodyPartsGroup> and <layers>

  • In <bodyPartsGroup>, erase Hands and type in Torso

  • In <layers>, erase OnSkin and type in Middle

There are different body parts and layers you can type in but this is the same layer that an armor vest would occupy This idea came from Setles in the comments of this mod.

I don’t know how this will work if you modify a pre-existing save, but if you do, it would probably be wise to back up save files and un-equip any toolbelts you have in game. Then you can re-equip after you’ve made these modifications. Just to be on the safe side.

That was not even mentioned in the mod description. And this issue of compatibility with bionic arms and adjusting the layers is discussed in more detail on that thread.

Personally, I'd prefer if this mod allowed us to build two different kinds: (1) Toolbelts that fit on hands (the way it currently works) and (2) Toolvests that fit on the torso (preferably on the Shell layer, to leave room for wearing armor).
