Adam & Eve + Making Tools?
I have never played the CC mod before the latest update, which apparently has made producing iron require smelting iron ore rather than just immediately getting iron right off the ground.

I've been trying out the Adam & Eve difficulty, and it seems brutally difficult to produce more tools than the 5 you start with, because you have to make a Small Fuel Refinery, then a Small Iron Smelter, and then a Blacksmith. Is there an easier way to get more tools?

Nevermind - I was mislead. You don't need actual Iron to make a blacksmith or rough tools, just iron ore.

I've found the best way to get a lot of tools straight away with very little effort is to build the overpowered dock workshop, it's so over powered for 45 wood, you can use reeds to make rope/fire bundles, reeds and feathers to make clothing and also make rough tools....all that from one building :)
