STNH support section
Hello everyone!
Let us start by saying that this mod has been extensively tested on windows and linux platforms and it works consistently and reliably. However we realize some new players suffer from issues, especially on how to get the game started for the first time! Let us help.
Please try the following solutions first:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of vanilla and the mod (Currently 2.8 and NHV
2010, respectably).
2. Make sure you have disabled all other mods with the exception of the official STNH main
mod and no more than ONE of our official Star Trek UI mods.
3. Do not try to activate any other mods, even mods that used to work with STNH,
including UI mods.
4. Do not try to activate more than one Star Trek UI mod.
5. Make sure you have disabled all custom empires – you can do this via vanilla setup if
needed.
6. If you are using MAC OS – try to turn down your graphics setting to a minimum and make
sure to be on OS High Sierra or newer.
7. If you are using more than two graphics cards, completely deactivate SLI profile (not just
for stellaris).
8. If you are experiencing CTD in lategame or other GPU related issues, update your graphics
drivers and try to start the game with the -opengl prefix. You can do this via Steam launch
options.
Further troubleshooting for windows 10:
- clean reinstall of video driver
- set fullScreen and borderless=no
- tick “disable full screen optimisations”
- run in win8 compatibility mode
- and in one case run in XP SP3 compat mode.
9. Make sure you are not trying to play an old save from before a major update. We are
currently at Into the Mirror, Darkly version of the mod – older saves will not work.

The list above fixes around 90% of all issues. If issues persist, please do a complete reinstall of the game, taking all the following steps, exactly:

1. From your Steam profile, unsubscribe manually from ALL Stellaris mods.
2. Uninstall the game.
3. Manually delete all three folders related to Stellaris (backup savegames)
- \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\
- \Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\281990\
- \Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Stellaris\
4. Reinstall the game and make sure it works, with the correct current version.
5. Install the main mod and NO other mod, at all ( including UI
mods).

If you are experiencing lategame CTD on saving a game the -opengl solution will fix your issues.

when i subscribe to the mod i cant select it in the mods screen. it shows two spots but they are both blank and cannot be selected.

I have followed all steps above however when I select both the subcontent and the STNH mod it will not load the game but closes out stellaris. oddly enough if i just select the subcontent it will load the game. Seems to be just the STNH mod thats crashing. I run an AMD Phenom II X6 1100 T processor 3.3GHz, 64 bit OS, Win 7 home premium service pack 1. this still occurs when I unistall and reinstall the game and mods. any help would be appreciated

u have the mod in ur steam workshop folder (check directory above), u can take the zip to the local mod folder (where the ugc...mod file is)
there u can unpack the mod and creating a .mod file for it.
then u have the mod local.

what the reason is for any steam issue, that we cant support. we have no knowledge or connection to steam.

pls check steam support/ vanilla support

Hi there,
I Play right now the map of the deltaquadrant with the talaxians. And I wonder, why the council of banea and every Small Empire, uprisen from primitive, has Small borders and do Not colonize. Is IT due to the restriction of having only 15 empires in the map? Because it is really easy with the talaxians having a big federation and they Accept my offer. Can I Boost them to colonize other planets? Even If I give them directly Systems AS a gift, they remain being Small.

This isn't the thread for these kind of questions, Beiju, it is specifically meant for installation problems.

But in principle, those are minor empires and they do not colonize or expand, nor can you make them do so.

Are the DLCs considered mods for these instructions and should not be installed? Just clarifying.

As far as we can tell,DLC shouldn't casuse any issue, whatever they are active or not.

I've been trying to make the mod work for some time now, I've subscribed to all the mods in the collection, and when running the main + sub mod (no other mods) it just crashes on creating a new game.

I'm trying to run it on a 2016 macbook pro, running latest High Sierra version and latest game + mod versions.


I've already tried to remove the game (even reinstalled the OS), but that did not fix the problem.

There is no real solution to Mac OS problems - reducing graphical setting helps, but in the end this is a vanilla issue. Since you say you 'subscribed to all mods in the collection' I would suggest you to try the re-installation process EXACTLY as we listed above (including manually deleting the folders and making sure you manually unsbuscribe from all mods), but if the issue persist, I am afraid there is nothing we can do.

Please let Paradox know you are suffering from this issue as well, there is a thread to that effect on their forum.

The game only crashes with this specific mod (and also not in vanilla), so I'm not sure if it is their issue to fix.

I'll try some other things and will report back soon!

There is a memory leak issue in vanilla with Mac OS which is accelerated to occur with the mod. Its not an issue we can fix!

Dobby - if you are still subscribed to the mods, and did not remove that information FROM STEAM AS WELL, they will be reinstalled automatically with the game.

Hence, if that happened, it doesn't matter if you reinstalled the OS.

Anyway, just trying to help - as Shaggo and myself said, it's an issue with the core engine, not the mod.

Harel - I did unsubscribe actually before reinstalling the OS, and no mods were installed when installing Stellaris again.



I'll try creating a bug report, to see if the developers (of the main game of course) can identify and fix the issue.

One issue my friends and I seem to be having is with Multiplater. We can't seem to connect to one another. We've tried your methods, confirmed we were all on the same version, buut whenever we try to connect we just sit on that screen, then it says after about ten monutes "Unable to find game"
