And you do have your fleets orbital bombardment stance set to harvest? Although it should be set to it by default as Borg.
1. Borg fleet is ALWAYS on harvest bombardment. You cannot change that.
2. There is no bombardment policy for the borg.
Orbital bombardment assimilation seems to be broken. Several people noticed that already. Kinda disappointed with this mod.
And I assume the planet in question had more than 1 pop? Did you by the way have Borg cubes at this point? And what map did you play? Also you could try to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the mod and also "verify the integrity of the game files" for Stellaris in Steam.
Of course another way to take planets is to train ground troops from your Unicomplexes for example, land them on those planets, wait for the pops to get assimilated and then manually transfer them around. (Note that at least some people have claimed that moving pops who are being assimilated between planets, to Unicomplexes might cause crashing issues. Although haven´t personally experienced them.)
