Total War: WARHAMMER

Total War: WARHAMMER

Radious Total War Mod

Legendary difficulty too hard or just me?
Okay, first and foremost, there is something very wrong with Leadership. There are lesser tier units that have 30 troops, less than a quarter health that DO NOT BREAK; I pitted regular Swordsmen vs regular Swordsmen and mine broke first (maybe it is because of Legendary difficulty but is exaggerated, I outflanked them when both were about half way and mine front line still broke first) and do not get me started on Dwarfs. ONE PERSON IN THE UNIT and they do not break when mine have 20 and are shattered. Battles without any Radious mod units that I won in legendary are now crushing defeats with the mod.

Second point, does it seem fair that a nation with two towns can support more units than the empire with seven town? I had Riekland and Midland and with a total of 56 units, I was just around 2k income (economical buildings on on about 4/5 of all my towns) and Meinberg had four max unit armies, and they were not sword and spearmen. I am talking about hellstorm artillery, Armor Sword/Spearmen, Veterans, exaggerated amounts of cavalry (both melee and outriders) and their Leaders, some level one or two, defeated Karl Franz in one to one combat, despite mine being several levels high, focusing on stats (so I guess that 'duelist' perk is worth nothing).

Please point out if it is just legendary difficulty, me or what but it is getting out of hand. Not to mention, it is turn 5 and the Empire secessionists and orks convince half of the world to fight against me; I started a legendary campaign and I lost by turn 8 because they had convinced the two dwarf factions near me, Meinberg and Midland/Nordland to join war against me.

Yeah I don't understnad either. Every battle against the Vampires I lose or barely win, against lesser armies becasue they seem totally immune to leadership now.

Yeah, it is just crazy. And I notice the problem is not just with Leadership, it is, in my opinion, the bonus they get. A squad of Miners and Dwar Warriors were each met up by Orc Spearmen, then they were soon after attacked from the flank/rear by a squad of Orc Boyz, Black Orcs and no other than Grimgore himself... If the whole battle lasted 7 minutes, 5:30 did those guys battle it out, the Dwarfs, being attack head on, in the flank, in the rear, besiged by superior troops and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hero; they lasted, yes, that long, fought TO THE LAST MAN (Miners probably ran off with like 10 men) all while they broke both my spear men, wavered my boyz, took down half the Black Orc units and health + taking about a 1/4 of Grimgore's health.

I mean, I understand it is supposed to be tough but one unit of the Dwarfs weakest (Miners) and the their most basic warriors held their ground and nearly destroyed four units and survived the onslaught of a hero, that is total bull crap. I have barley touched the Orc's because Dwarven armies are just too stupid; my T1 on T1, grosely superior units needed to win, T1 (D) vs T2/3, the Dwarfs will probably lose, but not without taking out 3/4 of your army, if not more. Anything above your regular Dwarf Warriors will tear to shreds ANTYHING you through at them, Anti-infantry, anti-armor, monsters, wizzards, heros, agents.... Worst of all, I go play the Dwarfs and while one lone Hammer will fight against 300 orcs and never shatter, my Dragon Company Dwarfs start wavering at about 1/3 health if isolated and break with around 15-25 models.

Battle Difficulty (not campaign one - that you choose as you can handle) should be played on normal or hard max. On any higher Ai gets massive stats bonuses and those are not possible to mod out, AI wont be smarter, player just have limited UI and AI has stats bonuses.

Wow, I did not know you could not change them, thank you for letting me know. While I do complain, and the proccess is excruciatingly slow, it is helping me become a better player. Their have been fights, I will not lie that I play two or three times and see how a frontal assault does not always work (sometimes it does if their frontline troops are weak or unshielded) and how sometimes out flanking your enemy can be both good or bad (leaves other troops open for calvary). The boost to their stats, while making the enemies resolve much greater, is making me extreamly more tactically aware. Slowly moving from Decisive defeat, to close, and now sometimes phyrriac. I always like a challenge, even if it is unrealistic (to the games standard) which is why I play it. Hey, I have come to learn (especially with the undead) that losing a battle can be tactically advantagous to you than winning; early in the vampire campaign, I was at war with the Dwarves directly south and they came with full force, two 20/20 army and two 10+ armies. I only had two 20/20 and was defending my level 4 capital. They attacked my castle with full force and I met them out in the battle field and lost, but the dwarfs took so many casualties that by rasing an army that same turn, thanks to raise undead, the turn right after the large scale battle, I had a 15+ army that mopped up the remaning dwarfs.

In all honestly, I love this game immensly and your mod has made it into from what seemed like the stale end of a white bread (due to lack of content) into a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ full fledged, double meat foot long sandwitch. I don't know how many you are,but you all deserve a credit where credit is due. Thank you for your time and dedication, I have your mod for most other Total War games and this one really takes the prize, for me. Thank your for clarifing my doubt about legendary difficulty, I guess they made it for hardcore fans (like myself) but who have realy analized the game and are very smart with every play (countless times have I lost a successful campaign because I did not explore ahed and got ambushed by two armies). I shall not be discouraged and will keep on fighting, FOR THE EMPEROR, FOR THE WARHAMMER! (Radious, you/your team are da real MVP!)

That's good to know. Thanks. Great work by the way.

I dont understand this thread. OP says hes playing on legendary but you cannot decrease battle difficulty, only increase it. Am i to take this to mean that this mod is only meant to be played on normal/hard difficulty? It is too easy as it is, just really annoying to have to completly destroy all AI units every battle because they do not route, making large battles 20-30min longer then they should be. Has anyone tried the difficulty mod and does it correct the leadership battle issues that plauge this mod?
