Mission Editing Questions
Hey _Muecke, thanks for maintaining this. I really enjoy playing this COOP with my brother.

I have a couple questions for you about editing the missions.

First, can I add more headless client slots just by adding a new client object and copying the init code to the new object, or does the mission expect only four HC slots? I'm running your mission on a dual xeon server with 16/32 cores, so I have enough cores to add more slots.

Also, would it be possible to re-enable the parameter to disallow planes from being bought? I noticed in the initt.sqf that the AttackPlanesAllowed variable was hard-coded to 1 and the ability to select this from parameters.hpp was removed. I manually set it to 0, but when I tested it on my gaming machine, the aircraft factories generated errors that are not present when the variable is set to 1. Or can I "safely" ignore the errors and go ahead and play the mission normally?

I just wasn't sure if the errors would affect the AI Commander in the event it would want a squad to purchase planes and then they would not be able to do so.

I don't mind planes, but I'm having a lot of trouble with the AI buying them and then they immediately crash the plane in the base, usually destroying the aircraft factory or the transport choppers. A couple days ago I'm guessing they destroyed the factory 5-6 times in one game.

Last, do you know of any reason that the VCOM AI mod would break your mission? I've made *some* modification to VCOM so the AI respects vehicle ownership more and told them not to lay so many mines... :NATO:

Hi Nocturena, thank you for playing crCTI Proman. It is not allowed to modify anything without my agreement. I had a hard time fighting vs people who where stealing and releasing the work. Other people joined servers with modified versiones which led to a chaos in reporting bugs.

The headless clients does not help you that much with increasing the number of it. Its not the mission but more the game. I recommened to use max 2 to not get in delays or simular. Sometimes is better to kick them while playing.

Disabeling the planes will lead to you will not be able to buy from airfactories.
There is a list of what the ai can buy. I mixed it with choppers. Changing the list is easy but its the result of many years of balancing. If you change 1 vehicle it could kill the flow and one side gets an advantage.
If the aircraftfactory builds a plane with ai pilot the plane will spawn in the air. Crashes in the base could be because of server to weak or planes from other mods like CUP.

VCOM AI should work well, i only used the VCOM AI Driving though.

I can understand the frustration that come from people not respecting your work.
I only edit missions for use on my dedicated server. It is solely for the use of my friends and it is never set to public access.

I've learned a lot about Arma's headless client system in the past couple of days and it's becoming more apparent to me that Bohemia has oversold how useful they can be. I really wish they would just get on with releasing Arma 4 with the engine they've made for DayZ.

The planes crashing were both on Malden 2035 and Livonia 2035. However, in both cases I did have all 4 HC slots populated. My server doesn't seem to have too much trouble with all 4 clients running on it, but I'll try 2 and see what happens. I was wondering if VCOM might have affected them, but I've played with it disabled and still had aircraft problems.
