With certain Goverment types it should be possible to choose your heirs or your new monarchs traits. you are raising your kids or choosing your succesor in all of the lifetime goverment types and some of the long lenght terms. But with elections you can already choose from a few different rulers.

I will look into that but I'm not sure if it can be done. there may not be a trigger that will work for it.
