To find your Starbound.log:
  • Right-click 'Starbound' on Steam
  • Click 'Properties'
  • Click 'Local Files'
  • Click 'Browse Local Files'
  • Enter the 'Storage' folder

Interacting with a Fenerox tenant in a colony displays a placeholder text. It also kills them upon interacting with their respective colony deed.

The placeholder text is normal. I replace it with actual dialogue as I continue working. It's there as a sort of goal for how many lines I plan to aim for. (And also to debug based on which line, at the moment.)

Regarding the crash-on-converse, it appears to be caused by some other mod. The only relevant arrivedhome-related bugs I could find in your log (that weren't specifically related to other mods) were about invalid JSON, and my patch is valid:


  • [14:40:31.685] [Error] Exception caught loading asset: /dialog/arrivedhome.config:beacon, (AssetException) Could not read JSON asset /dialog/arrivedhome.config
  • Caused by: (JsonParsingException) Cannot parse json file: /dialog/arrivedhome.config
  • Caused by: (JsonParsingException) Error parsing json: bad array, should be ',' or ']' at 19:5

I can't seem to interact with any NPC Fenerox https://pastebin.com/ajJsS1wc I think it might be a species mod I have that is conflicting with it but unsure which one.

For starters, you have Frackin Universe. Which is not compatible with Playable Fenerox.
You also have Cosmic Fenerox. Which is ALSO not compatible with Playable Fenerox.

experiencing crashes during encounters with Fenerox bandits. it's not too bad as it puts me right back where I left off, but it does it again after a few seconds, which gets annoying quickly. it's also worth noting that I am not even playing as a Fenerox at present, so it may not even be this mod at fault here.
