Controlled Difficulty

Released build cc046e (2017-06-17)
This release has three changes of note.

SpawnCycle syntax change: FP* is now KFP or KingFleshpound

Changed the SpawnCycle syntax for king fleshpounds from FP* to KFP. FP* no longer parses and is reserved for future use. The actual behavior of the king fleshpound has not changed, just his SpawnCycle name. I apologize for the inconvenience, but after realizing that the king behaves much more like a boss -- special abilities, HP phases, no decapitation -- I think it's better in the long term to give him a separate name (particularly if CD is ever going to support other types of bosses in SpawnCycles). The spawn.md doc has been updated accordingly:

New contributed SpawnCycle presets

Added three new contributed SpawnCycle presets:

  • dtf_v1 by Kore
  • nam_pro_v4 by Nam
  • nam_semi_pro_v2 by Nam

Thanks, Kore and Nam.

Kore's preset is tuned for 6+4fake and has substantially higher FP and SC counts than any other CD preset to date.

Added Github release automation

Note: this subsection is mainly for server admins and downgraders! Subscribing to CD's Steam Workshop item is the recommended way to acquire CD for most players. The Steam Workshop always gets you the latest stable release. No need to download from github if you just want to play the latest version solo or on others multiplayer servers. Think of this as a historical archive of CD releases.

Some players may want a direct download link to a ControlledDifficulty.u at a specific point in its revision history. This is particularly useful to server admins and any player who wishes to downgrade to an older CD.u release for testing purposes or to temporarily avoid a regression.

From now on, my CD releases will both upload to the Steam Workshop and create a tagged github release with the ControlledDifficulty.u file attached. Here's the the github release for this CD release:

https://github.com/notblackout/kf2-controlled-difficulty/releases/tag/release-2017-06-17-cc046e

This is fully automated. I just run `CD_BUILD_TYPE=Rel make deploy`, which does a clean build, creates the github release, and uploads to the workshop.
