There are some that need the files not from Workshop.

One main reason might be I updated and they need the old version to load in manually so they can delete / sell off the items in the mod that would make their save game crash. If you don't know, sometimes updating a mod makes existing things break. As long as your save game doesn't have the item that breaks it in it, then the new version works fine.

TL;DR - If your savegame needs an older version of the Mod so you can fix your save and upgrade to the new version of the mod.
